"Being scared is part of being alive. Accept it. Walk through it"

They say fear is a natural reaction to all things unknown. It's like a coping mechanism to handle change and is something that should be embraced but not allowed to rule over one's entire being like a dictator does a country.

I had always known fear, I grew up with it, lived through it. Fear was a daily occurrence for me and now? Now I was expected to face it.
Not necessarily something I'm all that comfortable with.

"Cmon Y/N it's okay, if you fall Ill catch you" I love flying with Lloyd, really I did but this was different. Now I had to attempt flying by myself. Clutching onto the pillar as I stood on the banister of the wall I made the grave mistake of looking down

"No.... Nononono NO I can't do it just go without me" I argued back eyes fixated on the ground meters below me. "Hey, HEY look at me Y/N" Lloyd commanded, voice holding such authority it sent chills down my spine. Slowly my eyes met his and I looked at him with tears teasing the corners of my eyes

"You're okay" he reassured "just keep your eyes on me" he smiled and reached for my hands while I got distracted by his eyes once again
"Close your eyes for me" he said, voice so calm it instilled a false sense of trust in me.

Gently he pulled me off of the bannister and I felt my heart leap in anxiety and I screwed my eyes shut awaiting the moment I meet the ground and go splat but it never came. The sound of something beating against the wind drew my attention away from the imminent feeling of death and I opened my eyes slowly to see pale pink scales between my legs, reflecting the sun in such a way it made them sparkle. "Wow" I breathed, voice barely audible and ran my hands against the skin of the dragon, cool to the touch just like rose quartz.

Lloyd smiled proudly but the moment was quickly ruined by Kai calling out to us, they had already begun their journey back to Ninjago and we were falling behind. "Cmon, I'll race ya" he laughed speeding off and I felt my competitive nature kick in, forgetting any reservations I had and following behind him at top speed.

The feeling of wind rushing through my hair was exhilarating, the whistling in my ears and cold air that hit my face was addicting and I never wanted to leave. Our dragons weaved around each other Lloyd going as far as to flip upside down now flying above me smiling as his blond hair tickled my forehead for a split second before returning to his position beside me. It was like we were the only two people in the world and I felt time slow down around us. His laughter
rang through the air, infectious and angelic.

The race continued and we regularly overtook each other each time on of us got a small boost of energy to fly just a little bit faster. My stomach fluttered each time his eyes met mine and the moment couldn't be more perfect

That was until he began to slow down, face dropping as he looked ahead of us, I followed his eyes to see Ninjago on the horizon and my gut lurched as we approached the rest of the group

A familiar feeling settled in the pit of my stomach once again
