Its Not Over Yet

"ugh, they have all the power!"
Master Chen complained as he, Clause, and a couple of his minions escaped through a dark passageway with Skylar tied up.
"for now, master. But not for long."

The rest of Chen's evil little minions were apprehended by the elemental masters and led outside so that we could keep an eye on them.
"no sign of Chen. And no sign of Skylar either"
"If it weren't for her help we wouldn't have control of the island. We'll find her, brother."

Kai sighed no matter how much Nya and sensei Garmadon tried to comfort him he was worried there was no denying that. "it's funny. I came here to find an old friend. I just never thought we'd make new ones." sensei Garmadon placed a hand on Kai's shoulder "We'll find her, Kai. And we'll find Chen."

As the group were all ensuring there was no way on and off of this island I watched in quiet apprehension, sure they were just making sure that Chen couldn't escape but what about us? moving my gaze to my reflection in the water below I watched my eyes narrow at my now light pink locks.

this changes everything

I was used to moving around unnoticed in life, my very normal very mundane appearance helped me blend in with everyone else but now? now I stood out like a sore thumb, a literal pink sore thumb. the irony was hilarious truly.

I was standing with Kai and Lloyd when Cole and Jay joined us" The palace and sleeping quarters are clear still no sign of Chen and Clouse" Cole informed and I could see Kai's face sink in disappointment. "what about Skylar?"
"she wasn't able to pick her family. But she was able to pick her friends." Lloyd, just like his dad, placed a hand on Kai's shoulder in reassurance.

It was a wonder watching the father and son interact I would be surprised if no one else noticed the similarities between the two aside from their appearance which was also strikingly similar they were so alike you could swear Lloyd was practically a mini version of his dad, the good side of his dad.
"We can do a sweep of the island, check the tunnels for any passageways we might have missed, and check all of the ruins they might be hiding there." I was determined to find Skylar as well she had helped so much and if it weren't for her and Kai breaking the staff I wouldn't be standing here right now.

"and since you're her friend that means so are we we'll find her"
"he's right. With no way off the island, it'll only be a matter of time."
"I'm proud of you all, you've done what the original elemental masters never could: stick together." Master Garmadon joined the conversation and that's when I decided to take my leave. I wasn't part of the ninja's team so the wise words of sensei Garmadon I could only assume were not intended for me. Right as I turned to walk away Lloyd grabbed my hand giving me a silent look

So that's what I did but much to my surprise his hand never left mine.

I was with the group securing some vehicles Nya had found when Turner came running up to us shaking "Chen found out that Skylar's powers can finish the spell. She's in Danger!"
Kai was quick to jump into asking him where she was in hopes that we would reach her before Chen did and I felt my stomach sink when he told us she was on the other side of the island.

" Im going after her" he announced and of course we all followed. Jay and Zane went in the Mech and Buggy, Kai in one of the cars while Cole and Lord Garmadon took the Roto Jet. Nya had her land bounty and naturally with no space in any of the vehicles that left me with Lloyd on his dragon.

"you might want to hold on" Lloyd chuckled and I wrapped my arms tightly around his torso seconds before he could manifest his dragon. Screaming as we were launched into the air I refused to open my eyes under ANY circumstances until we were safely on the ground once again. The rest were left to guard the camp and prisoners.

"WOOHOO cmon Y/N open your eyes this view is to die for" Lloyd called over his shoulder. It was hard to hear him with the wind rushing past my ears but I heard enough to get a basic just of what he was saying. "NO!" I responded wrapping my arms around him tighter but suddenly his presence wasn't there anymore. I felt a hand on my shoulder but my arms no longer felt the heat coming from his body meaning he had somehow managed to pry my arms off of him. I panicked. having never flown before I wasn't aware that I had a fear of heights, or well a fear of heights when it comes to flying on the back of a dragon thousands of feet above the ground.

I felt something plonk down behind me and mimicking my actions from before strong arms wrapped around my waist and hot breath fanned over my right cheek.
"Open your eyes Y/N it's okay I got you" For some reason his voice calmed me, slowly I peeked my eyes open and the sight left me speechless.

We were flying above the island and I could see Ninjago City on the distant horizon. I could see the buggies driving around the jungle below us Nya's standing out the most being bright red as she drove through the forest. We couldn't see them clearly because of the thick treeline but flashes of red, blue, and purple alerted us of their whereabouts.

"It's beautiful" I whispered and Lloyd's chuckle resonated against my back. We followed closely behind Nya and Jay when Zane crashed his buggy and fell into a large pit. They seemed to be having a short dispute before Kai drove off with the others leaving Zane behind.

We lost the group for a bit, everyone having split up to search different parts of the jungle in hopes of finding Skylar faster but it wasn't long until Kai alerted us that he found her and that they were both safe so we returned to camp with the rest. Lord Garmadon came out from around the corner a little while after we landed he looked out of breath but relatively okay and Lloyd ran up to hug his dad most likely worried sick. But his face dropped in fear when his father collapsed to the ground mid-sentence with the tattoo on his back glowing bright purple.

Honestly, will we ever catch a break?

Guess the fight isn't over just yet
