Chapter 1

My alarm went off. I checked the time 6:29 ugh I hate school. Maybe mom will let me stay home today. Nah fuck it. I hope in the shower and get out. I get dressed in my black skinny jeans and grey shirt and do my hair. I just put som gel in it and put on my beanie. I run down stairs and put on my boots. "Hey there's breakfast in the kitchen if your hungry get your brother ready and don't skip today" my mom says not taking her eyes off her phone. She's in her business suit so obviously she's leaving. "Where are you going?" I asked. "Oh yea I'm going to London to make sure things are okay with the company" of fucking course. "How long?" "Probably three weeks at the most" she replied answering her phone. Ugh I have to wake James. I walk to my little brothers room and turn on the light. I walk over to him and shake him saying "james it's 6:45 time to get up buddy and just think we have the weekend to ourselves. So the quicker you get up the quicker the day will go then the quicker we can go to the zoo" he immediately shot up and ran to the bathroom. I chuckled and walked out. Only to see my mom grabbing her suitcase and about to leave. "The numbers are on the counter and no parties and-" she was cut off by her phone ringing. "Yes....okay..yea okay bye" "hey honey I have to go the cars outside. Make sure to take care of your brother and don't fight" she yelled as she walked out the door. Well that's wonderful. She didn't even say bye. Well it seems I have time to introduce myself. My name is Cassie Galloway. My mom is Kim galloway and my little brother is james galloway. Basically we live by ourselves in a nice house. I haven't seen my dad since three years ago. He was an alcoholic and he used to abuse me. He got arrested when he tried to beat james. I wasn't going to let him do that to him. But that day I beat the ever living shit out of him. No one fucking touches my brother. The Neighbor heard yelling and called the cops. So yea. My mom didn't really care about what happened. She put on the "I love you so much" act when the cops were here but she never really cared. I watch as my little brother walks down the stairs in his red skinny jeans and grey shirt and grey SnapBack that I picked out. I'm so glad I got him those clothes. I grab something for him and tell him to eat while I Made sure he had his school work ready. I check my phone to see a text from emily saying she's on the way. And I tell james to hurry a little bit because she could be here any minute. I hear a honk and I tell james to come on and run outside and get in the front kissing her. "Hey baby" I say "your beautiful babe" she says in my ear. I slightly blush trying to hold it in. As you can tell I'm a total badass right? James gets in and we're off

We're finally at hell... I mean school, after an eternity. We pulls up and I hop out telling james to have a good day watching as he walks off. I silently pray he wouldn't get picked on today. I walk over to my group of friends and say hey to yaya and whisper in her ear "come over tonight my mom isn't home" she just nods and looks at her boyfriend Alex. They've been on and off all year. I just nod to him and run up to Austin and tackle him into a hug "oh my god are you okay?!" He just laughs and says a yes he got suspended for alcohol. But it wasn't his! The fucking jocks planted it in his bag! I was beyond fucking pissed when i found out. We both walk over and I notice gabby standing there staring off. I snap in his face and he looks at me confused. "You zoned out dude" "oh thanks" he says. We all turn our attention to the group of jocks and cheerleaders walking towards us. "Babe get behind me" I say. The leader Hali get up in my face popping her gum "eww don't try and hide that fat bitch behind you. We have more ways to beat her ass" I make a fist with my hands trying not to punch the shit out of her. No one talks about my girl like that. Just wait. She'll pay for it. She walks away with her group. I turn around and hug emily tightly as I say "don't listen to them baby girl. Your beautiful. I wouldn't want you any other way okay?" I bend down and look into her eyes "I love you princess. Come on let's go to class" I grab her hand as everyone just splits and goes to their class. Me and Emmy have the same classes but one. We walk in and Sit down in the back. Mrs.Henderson goes on about some math bullshit that won't help us in real life. I turn to see Emmy paying deep attention to what Mrs.H is saying. I get bored and start poking her sides. She tries to cat serious but fails when I nibble her ear lobe and she bites her lip. I rub her thigh and her breath hitches. I get closer till I just stop leaving her frustrated and face the front of the class. I look at her and if looks could kill I would've been dead already. I just laugh quietly and try not to sleep. The bell rings. FINALLY THIS CLASS IS OVERRRRRRR!!! I get up and gather my things and walk out waiting for Emmy. We head to lunch and since today is the last day of school it's a half day. We all meet up at our usual table and just start talking. Gabby, yaya and Alex get up to get lunch. I stay seated. I give yaya a nod indicating to get Emmy lunch. "Babe. Babe baby babyyyyyyy" I whine trying to get her attention. She makes a mad face and I pout at her and pretend to cry and she looks at me and says "Awh baby don't cry I was kidding" I kiss her passionately on her lips. "I know. But hey come by my house around 9 okay?" She nods. Gabby yaya and Alex get back and yaya hands Emmy her lunch. She starts eating it. She looks at me "baby why aren't you eating?" "Oh I'm not hungry" I lie "oh okay" she says I check the time 1:30 I have to get james. "Hey baby I have to get james I'll see you later okay? I love you" I say as I kiss her lips and nod to yaya making sure our plans were still on. I walk off going to James's class to pick him up and stop when I hear crying. I walk in the boys bathroom. I shouldn't be in here. Eh fuck it. Someone's crying. I look in the bathroom stalls to see my little brother "oh babe what happened?" He just shakes his head. I bend down and say "come on bud lets go home. We can talk there okay?" He nods and stands up. I grab his hand and walk out to Emmys car. She's riding with Alex. I unlock it and help james up. Man I swear if them kids did this Imma kill a bitch. I don't care if they are like 10. Okay Cassie. Calm down. I get in and plug in the aux cord. "James play the playlist. You know which one" he plays it and in seconds I can hear Bea Millers force of nature ringing through my ears. I start yelling the lyrics.

We get home and I notice a car in the drive way. Who the hell is here. I grab the gun in the glove box that my uncle got me in case of an emergency. I tell James to stay there. I see the doors open. I make sure its loaded. I kick in the door and point. I see someone standing there. Then the lights turn on. Tears welt up in my eyes. I can't move. Why can't I move. Fuck run goddamit! Move stupid legs!
