Chapter 18

I pull into a parking spot to Charlie's apartment. Putting the car in park I sigh and look at the book bag. How did I get myself into this mess??

I grab the bag and hide it under the seat. Locking the car I walk up the stair on the 3rd floor where her apartment is. I knock on the door and not three seconds later I'm being pulled in and slammed against the door.

"Where the fuck have you been?!" Charlie screamed at me. "And why are there cuts on your wrists and bruises on your knuckles??" I push her away from me walking to the fridge and grab a beer.

"Don't you fucking ignore me you bitch!" She yelled. I screamed and threw the bottle at the wall.

"Cassie..?" I hear a small voice breaking me out of my anger and sadness.

"Yeah baby?" I say looking at my terrified brother. "What's wrong? Why'd you do that?" He says looking at the shattered beer on the floor.

I walk over to him pulling him into a hug feeling like my world was crashing around me. "Baby do you ever feel angry and get so mad that you wanna break and throw things?" I ask softly running my hands through his hair. Something my mother did to me before my 'father' happened.

He nods and I say "well that's how I feel baby. I feel like I have no control anymore." He looks at me and Charlie and pulls me towards the door.

I stop him and ask "what are you doing??" He opens the door before saying "when I get sad or angry you take me to get ice cream and we play at the park so that's what we're doing."

I smile at him. I've raised him good. "Well let me grab my keys and we'll go okay? Hurry and put on your shoes." I walk to the counter grabbing the keys to my new car.

"Charlie can you help me out on my shoes?" I hear James say. She nods still shocked by my outburst.

"Alright let's go guys." I say walking out the door behind James.

I'm pulled back by Charlie. "Don't think we aren't gonna talk about what happened." She whispers. I nod

Walking to parking lot Charlie walks to her car. "What are you guys doing?" I say laughing slightly. "..getting in my car?" Charlie says questioningly.

I shake my head and click the button to my car making it go off and their eyes look at the car with wide eyes. "Holy shit! Is this your car??" Charlie says looking at me.

I nod before climbing in making everyone scurry to get in the new car I got hours before. I chuckle shaking my head at the two.

I pull out of the parking lot driving to James's and i favorite ice cream shop.

As I stop at a red light I hear Charlie ask "how can you even afford this?" I bite my lip before saying "I'll talk to you when we get home okay?" She nods as the light turns green.

I get out of the car walking inside of "i scream for ice cream" (couldn't think of anything sue me)

James excitedly walks to the counter looking for his favorite worker Ariana. He spots the blonde before screaming "Ariana!!"

She laughs before walking over to us and greets us. Me and James look at each other before looking at her saying at the same time "chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream please" she giggles before looking at Charlie.

"Um I'll have the Dino ice cream" she says politely. Ariana nods before ruffling James's hair walking to the back to make it.

"Why'd you choose the Dino ice cream?" I ask curiosity taking over me.

"Because they have little Dinosaur cookies in the ice cream" she says in a childish voice. I smile and kiss her cheek.

I look at them before realizing yaya isn't here. "Where yaya??" I ask concerned.

"Oh she actually left the night you went missing. She just packed up and left no note or anything" I nod.

That's weird.. She wouldn't do something like that. I have a bad feeling about this.

"Here are your ice creams and here's my number for you Cassie" she says winking. Ugh! She's been crushing on my for the longest but she's just my friend!

I smile awkwardly as she leaves before taking a breath. I look at the paper before crumpling it up tossing it to the side.

Charlie smiles at me glad that I did that instead of keeping it. I smile at her before pecking her lips softly knowing it turned her on.

Our kiss was broken by my annoying little brother yelling rather loudly "EWWW YOU NASTYYYY"

We pull away and laugh but deep down I know when we get back in gonna have to tell Charlie about what happened and find out what happened to yaya. This isn't gonna be a good week I can feel it. Something is bound to happen.
