'Y/n, you ready yet?' Hyunjin's voice called you from downstairs. You stood in front of the mirror, nervously fiddling with the hem of your skirt, twisting and turning and looking at yourself from every angle. After breakfast and your morning shower, you had taken ages to get ready. You had never taken so long on doing your makeup and had changed your outfit about five times. You weren't sure why you were dawdling around, feeling so insecure and nervous. You stared at yourself in the mirror, biting your lip. It had taken you ages to pick the right balance between sophisticated and cute, something that felt fitting for an art course. And although you knew that Hyunjin would love whatever you wore, you couldn't help but also want his approval. It wasn't that you needed it, but a part of you craved it.
'Coming!' you called back, deciding there was no time left to change your outfit again and discarding the pile of rejected clothes on your bed and floor before grabbing your bag and running out of the room.
Hyunjin was waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs, his bright pink hair neatly styled. He was wearing his oversized Celine blouse tucked into a pair of light blue jeans. Only he would be able to pull off such a simplistic and effortless look all the while making it look like the perfect artsy boyfriend outfit.
'You made an effort,' he noticed, looking you up and down and scanning your outfit, a hint of a smirk teasing his pouty lips. Instantly you could feel your cheeks pinken up and looked away. But he grabbed your chin softly and turned your head to face him. 'I like it,' he said, smiling warmly. Your heart melted instantly and you couldn't help but grin.
'Let's go then, shall we?' he spoke, letting go of your chin and putting out his hand for you to take. You slipped your hand into his and he instantly intertwined his fingers with yours, gently pulling you toward the door. 'We're off!' Hyunjin called out. There was a faint muffled sound coming from the direction of Seungmin's and Jeongin's room. Changbin and Chan were lounging on the couch and put their hands up at the two of you, waving you goodbye and wishing you a good time. For a second you caught a glimpse of a slightly dishevelled-looking Minho in the kitchen. Your eyes met his for a split second. He looked slightly sleepy, his eyebrows raised in surprise when he saw you passing, his hair an absolute mess, and wearing what you recognized to be one of Felix's oversized shirts.
'We're here!' Hyunin beamed as he parked the car in front of the museum. Just seeing him so happy and enthusiastic before even stepping inside made your heart glow. The museum he had taken you to was one you hadn't been to before. In the past few years, you had joined Hyunjin quite a few times on a museum trip. He'd be roaming around and you would follow him, looking at whatever he'd be looking at. He wouldn't say much whenever he was there. He'd just look at the paintings and statues, slowly walking around. It was always nice to go with him. It felt calm, relaxing - almost meditative. But this time it felt different. You never felt so nervous in an art museum before. Never before had your heart fluttered like it did at this very moment.
'Good morning Mr. Hwang,' the receptionist greeted Hyunjin with a bow of his head. Hyunjin bowed back and guided you past the reception.
'Don't we need tickets?' You asked, feeling slightly nervous and looking uncomfortably at the people queuing up who looked at you passing them frowningly.
