11. Pink Fluorescent Lights

Olympia

THE NEXT JOB I TOOK I MADE A VOW TO BUY NICER CLOTHES. I do enjoy my clothes, but I looked out at Akor's club.

The one outfit I have that matches the vibe is my red pinafore dress. It matches being in that atmosphere. But it can't be the only thing I wear when I go there.

I'm sure Akor would catch onto it.

So, I decided to take initiative and go to Aura again to get another job. I could only hope he wouldn't do something like petty theft for a stupid necklace again.

I give that experience a 1 out of 0. A 1 for achieving money and a pretty necklace. It's a stupid necklace but I would admit that it is pretty.

When it was time to finally return to his club reluctantly of course I had put the necklace. Despite how light the chain and stone are it feels heavy around my neck. A reminder of what exactly this thing is supposed to mean.

A warning to all other demons to stay away from me. Not that I know how it does that.

But I'll just wing it at this point. I put myself in a typical outfit paired with the necklace and my boots before grabbing the car keys.

Off to his club I go.

I ended up at the nightclub earlier than planned. Akor told me for jobs to come just as it closes. The club closes in an hour which left me an hour of just sitting around at his club.

Something tells me Akor isn't exactly an early bird either. He seems like a fashionably late type of person.

I am the opposite of that. I always attended my classes early. Typically, at least. There were times where I put it off until last moment. However, I prefer early more than anything else. It gives me a reassurance that I didn't forget anything.

In this situation it leaves me an hour at the nightclub which isn't my scene.

Alas I do have to go in. I felt like a serious loser just sitting there in the car. Someone could walk by and see me having my crisis.

Which forced me out of the car and over to the club.

There was a line outside which thanks to Akor's special status he gave me allowed me to skip. I'm not sure what he did but his employees seem to know me.

I'm not going to ponder what he told them.

Akor wanted me to keep quiet on these jobs. He pays me and I don't have to be an exotic dancer or bartender. I'd shut up if it puts money in my pocket. I'm not a talkative person either so it's not a big deal.

Skipping the line put me in the club which is lit up by pink lighting with bodies everywhere dancing and drinking. This club reeks of sexual energy way more suffocating than Akor's.

Akor is only one demon while this club is flush with many of them. It's safe to presume that most of the demons in here especially the exotic dancers are sex demons of some type.

I looked around the club before deciding to go to the bar.

I'm not sure if it's reassuring or not that Riane is the one working it today. At least she is someone that I know over someone I don't. This would be ten times more awkward if it was a stranger.

"Virgin drink again?" Riane asked.

She was never going to let me live down my lack of alcohol consumption. Call me a prude but I didn't want to drink. Even if I was legal age, I don't think I'd be comfortable getting even tipsy here and having to drive home.
