15. Cat out the Bag

Olympia

EVERYTIME, I HAVE INTERACTED WITH AKOR IT HAS BEEN AT HIS CLUB. So that is where I went looking for him.

Despite that I still felt a bit stupid walking into his club with a grocery bag in hand.

I assume he has somewhere he lives. While I'm here I could figure that out to see if I could visit him there if he was going to give me errands to run. I already dislike being here and now I just feel like an idiot.

Who shows up to clubs with grocery bags?

I found Riane at the bar.

"Is Akor here?" I asked.

"He's in his office with his sister, would you like me to bring you to him?" Riane asked.

"I can find my way there." I answered.

"Do knock. Akor isn't fond of people interrupting him unannounced." Riane called out with a sly smile on her face.

That wasn't surprising. At least I don't have to worry about finding him in a compromising position since he's with his sister.

I went to his office which is slotted away in the back of the club down some hallway. The way his club is formed is quite weird. He had some random hallway combined with the large room of his club. In general, he has passages that look like they don't belong here.

It reminded me of him mentioning he glamoured his club to have it pass in the human world. That is the most I could chalk it up to.

I stopped at the door of his office before knocking.

I leaned back and waited before the door opened and Akor appeared. His eyebrow raised as a smile crossed his face.

"And what do I owe the pleasure of you being here for?" Akor asked his voice smooth as ever.

"I bought all the stuff you gave me a list for." I told him.

I raised the grocery bag showing it to him. Akor smiled before he grabbed the grocery bag. He motioned for me to come in. I followed after him. Akor shut the door before going to his desk and setting the bag down.

Across from his desk Fortune sat with a plate of lobster and some sort of noodle in front of her. She looked up and a smile ran across her face.

This seems to be the first time Akor has let me around her or her around me without being on the brink of losing his shit. He seems oddly calm.

"Take a seat Olympia, are you hungry by chance we do have extras?"

"I ate before I came here." It did hurt to say that.

The lobster smells good and so does whatever pasta dish they had made. But I don't need to overeat.

"That's fine, I assume you got everything?" Akor asked.

"I got everything on the list."

I still want to punch him. Introduce him to a right hook. However, I do have enough brains to know that would not work to my favor. He is my boss, and it would be best to stay on good terms with him.

Akor was sorting through the bag with a smile before he put away all the perishable goods.

"Everything seems to be here, so thank you Olympia." Akor mused.

"You sent your secret angel hybrid being on an errand run?" Fortune asked.

I looked over at her. Akor glared at her while I looked at her in slight surprise. It seems Akor is close enough with his sister to tell her. Maybe that's why he seems less bothered with her being in the room.
