09 - Kiss

After a few minutes, he saw that the red light indicated Iris's becoming slower and he knows that currently his little girl got away from the car and running on her legs. He was already almost at the location and started to slow his car pace when he is near. Then, from afar, he can see the car from before and he knew they stopped to catch Iris.

Lucas also stops his car and by using his smart glasses which he already connects to the tracker, he starts to run towards the forest.

"Beauty! Please don't be afraid of me! We just having fun together!" he then heard the voice. F*ck! Having fun my ass! They are worse than the animals and the devil itself. He swiftly ran through the forest while making sure those men did not find him and then he abruptly stop when the tracker shows that he is near Iris right now. He slowly looks around and then he finds the frightened Iris closing her mouth with both of her hands.

Lucas was finally able to calm himself down slowly but quickly move to her with caution.

"Iris, it's me" he whispered slowly at Iris which startled her. She almost screamed but got silenced by Lucas's lips. That surely silences her because she is at a loss for words even after the lips leave hers.

"I am sorry. That's the only way that I can think. You can kill me after we safely get out from them." Lucas knew what he just did does not have her consent but he really don't have any idea what to do in the current situation.

"You better be ready" Iris replied which makes him smile.

"I am ready for everything you will do to me, my little girl" Iris slapped a little on his hand because he still wants to flirt in this kind of situation.

"Let's go. Walk slowly and closer to me" Lucas goes back to his serious mode and Iris followed his instruction with her hand in his.

Lucas looks around their surrounding and starts to move when he confirmed that they are safe. Suddenly, Lucas's instinct kicks off telling them to duck and when they did, a bullet goes through the tree beside them.

"Where do you think you are going?" Lucas instantly brings Iris behind him to shield her. While that, his finger wrote something on the back of her hand. Slow... Run

Iris understood that and started together with Lucas slowly walking back and side to side and right after they are near a big tree, they started to run as fast as they can. Hearing a few released shots makes Iris flinch. Lucas felt it too and makes him curse inside of his head. Just a few steps to get out of the forest, one of the shots pierced through Lucas's shoulder.

"Lucas!" Iris shouted and stopped but Lucas urged them to continue running, ignoring the pain he felt. This is nothing compared to what happened to Iris. That's what he is currently thinking which makes him numbed from feeling the pain.

"Let her go and I will let you go, boy" the man shouted after laughing out loud knowing the boy got shot.

"Over my dead body!" Lucas shouted in anger. They ran as fast as they can towards his car and by then, he saw a few cars passing them and surrounding the three men that were currently running to catch them.

Lucas sighed after seeing that, knowing right now, that Captain David's team has arrived. He saw them get arrested by the team after getting knocked down. His body feel relieved and by then he remembered Iris beside him.

He looks at Iris who is already with teary eyes looking at his bloody shoulder.

"Hey, this is nothing, okay? Don't make that face, little girl. Leo will actually kill me if he sees this"

"I will kill you before he can! Can you stop being playful in a serious situation?!" Lucas chuckled hearing her nagging. This is the first time he saw multiple expressions keeps coming on her face. His hand slowly reached her face, caressing it with a lot of care.

"Lucas!" Lucas retracted his hand and glared at Leo who is now running towards them with Jay and a few paramedic people.

"God, you're bleeding!" Leo was shocked to see blood on Lucas's shoulder and the paramedic team immediately did their job to stop the bleeding.

"Iris!" Leo immediately ran to his little sister and hugged her tightly.

"Oh, thank God that you are saved. Did you hurt anywhere?" he looks around Iris and saw a few scratches on her body and her swollen ankle.

"Your ankle!" Iris did not know that her ankle was swollen and the swelling is pretty bad already. The other paramedic instantly does some emergency treatment and asks for both Lucas and Iris to be sent to the hospital for a detailed check-up.

"The Reynolds are so dead now!" Jay can't hold his anger anymore.

"Leo, we have to proceed with our plan now or they can do something more than this." Leo nodded and told Lucas and Iris that they want to discuss something with Captain David.

"Why you did not tell me about your ankle?" Lucas asked Iris when they are alone.

"I didn't know it myself" he sighed and take a look at her ankle.

"I am sorry. I can't protect you well when I already promised you that I will" he closed his eyes but then feel a smooth hand pulling his face to look at the owner of it.

"You did, Lucas. You did fulfil your promise. You protected me" She then gives him a little peck on his left cheek and smiles.

"I want more" Lucas smirked at her which makes him receive a hard slap on his lap. She stops smiling and gives him a deep glare. Lucas laughed while rubbing his probably red thigh.

After the incident, both of them were sent to the hospital with Leo and Jay by ambulance while the man, Jake Reynolds and his men got arrested by the police without losing any moment. Not losing any more time too, this arrested got aired through the national news at the police station. The whole city now knows the news, including the master of all of this, Chester Reynolds.

"Fool! How can he get arrested? His only task is just to bring that bi*tch back here!" the man punches his desk roughly.

"Iris, you won't see the outside of the world anymore when I caught you back." his anger showed in his eyes.

"Dad, I won't disappoint you."
