World building
Where this story takes place is in the empire of paradee, under the rule of emperor Grisha Jaeger and empress Carla Jaeger.
The crown prince, Eren Jaeger and the crown princess adopted, Mikasa Ackerman. It was rumored if Eren does not find a suitor to marry Mikasa will rule by his side as queen.
Paradee is settled in a semi modern fantasy universe, where cameras exist along with landlines, but cell phones and internet did not exist.
Cars were only owned by the rich nobles or by certain buisness that reside in the capital. Most nobles still owned horse drawn carriages if they wanted to be extravagant.
Status is divided by the rich versus the poor. The rich were considered nobles, where as the poor, or the less fortunate were considered commoners. In this world status is everything. The only family to hold a specific rank other than the emperor, is the marquess. The marquess is considered just below the emperor on the scale of power, usually the marquess and the emperor support one another. Like a budding mutual friendship.
Bastard children, are children born out of an affair among nobles, and are considered to be trash by most. Only in special cases can a bastard child hold power.

I guess it would be better to start at the very beginning of it all. Back when I was a child...
I didn't know at the time that my very existence was an issue. I was born in a low ranking noble family, due to an affair my birth mother had with a servant. For the first few years of my life I was abused by my siblings. I wasn't even granted a proper name, so I gave myself the name y/n. I overheard my birth mother reading to my siblings one night and the main character in the story shared her name as y/n.
