Y/ns pov

I started down at the invitation, my blood running cold. As soon as it arrived mina rushed it to me. I didn't have the chance to open it just yet, as I was busy all morning with my etiquette lessons in the office closest to my bedroom. It was sealed with the crest of the crown prince, a rose. I despised roses... They were common. But I suppose thanks to Zeke's little idea that he put in mother and father's head, I will become the next empress one day. So I must grow to love them.

I have a better chance than anyone by far, considering Zeke will be helping me out from the shadows as he calls it.

I hadn't thought of Levi much that day, as I accepted myself into my new life.

Finally, with a sigh I unsealed the envelope. Inside was the invitation with my name on it, beautifully decor as t we d in gold leaf with a calligraphy quill and ink over top.

"My lady... It truly is an invite!" Mina gasped as I read it over and over again.

Lady y/n of noble Theo's household.

The crown prince humbly ask for your attendance at his majesty's palace tomorrow night for his birthday. The party will be thrown as a ball, so we do ask for a dress code.

Bring this invite with you upon arrival.

I couldn't believe it. I thought Zeke had been bluffing when he mentioned getting me on the invite list, but he had truly done it.
"I... " I began before she started twirling around, her uniform dress flowing around her.

"My lady we must have the dressmaker come and sew you a new dress!!" Mina sighed romantically as she imaginary danced with her invisible partner.

"Mina the party is tomorrow! I won't have time to get a new dress..." I chewed on my lower lip trying to think of a solution. I had plenty of dresses that society hasn't seen yet, but I was severely under prepared for this. Part of me thought Zeke was spinning us a golden tale, and not the truth. But I see now he was telling the truth.

There was one dress I had that I had never worn before as it was a gift from my father for when I was supposed to debut, but as that never happened I left it put away. It was the only dress I could imagine as fitting enough for the crown prince grand ball.

How many guests will be there? I wondered as I paced anxiously around the room.
And when I get there what do I do and say? I've only met his Majesty once...

A soft knock sounded at my door as I paced around the room. Mina rushed to the door before looking at me for approval.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It's mother." My mother called through the door.

Just the person I needed to see...

I let out a sigh before forcing a smile.

"Come in." I ordered as mina opened the doors. In walked my beautiful mother, with a large smile plastered across her face.

"I wasn't sure if your lessons were done for the day, but as soon as I saw madam historia leave I knew I could come see you." Mother began as she approached me, grabbing onto my arms with her hands gently.

"My dearest daughter, I wanted to talk with you since it has been a couple of days since we last spoke about this..." She began, her expression changing to a worried one as she led me to one of the couches in the room.
I could tell mother wanted to talk to me about something important every night wed have dinner together. I had been busier since Zeke's appearance, learning all sorts of lessons from historia, my tutor. Although thanks to my busier lessons, a certain best friend of mine gets to see their lover more frequently.
