The following day, Hammer and Glass met up with Malk and Sky at a small cafe in the heart of the city. They sat at a table in the corner, sipping their coffee and discussing the mission at hand.
Sky began to lay out the details of their new employer's mission. They were to infiltrate a high-security facility and steal some sensitive government files. The facility was heavily guarded, and getting in would be no easy feat.
"But that's not the only problem," Malk chimed in. "The files are stored on a server that's completely offline. We'll have to physically retrieve them."
Hammer raised an eyebrow. "And how do we do that?"
Malk leaned forward, his eyes intense. "We've got a plan," he said. "But it's going to take some serious firepower."
Sky pulled out a set of blueprints and spread them out on the table. "Here's what we know," she said. "The facility is divided into three main sections: the administrative wing, the research wing, and the server room. The server room is the most heavily guarded, but it's also where the files are stored."
She pointed to a spot on the blueprint. "We'll have to go in through here," she said. "It's a maintenance entrance that's not heavily guarded. Once we're inside, we'll make our way to the research wing. There's a scientist there who's sympathetic to our cause. He'll help us get into the server room."
Glass nodded. "And once we have the files?"
"We'll make our way out the same way we came in," Sky said. "But we'll have to move fast. The guards will be on high alert once the alarm is raised."
Hammer leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing. "This is a risky operation," he said. "What's in it for us?"
Malk smiled. "Our employer is offering a big payout," he said. "And if we succeed, we'll have a powerful ally in the criminal underworld. This could open up a lot of opportunities for us."
Glass nodded, her eyes shining. "I'm in," she said.
Hammer hesitated for a moment, but then he nodded. "All right," he said. "Let's do this."
The Band of Misfits set to work, preparing for their most daring mission yet. They gathered their gear, checked and rechecked their plans, and made sure that they were ready for anything.
But he also knew that this job was different. This time, the stakes were higher, the risks greater. They were up against a powerful opponent, and failure was not an option.
