As they regrouped, Hammer pulled out his radio and tried to communicate with Spider, the third member of their team who was still missing.
"Spider, come in," Hammer said into the radio. "Do you copy?"
There was no response, just static.
Hammer tried again, but still there was no reply.
"We have to find Spider," Hammer said to Glass and Malk. "He might have some important information about what's going on."
They heard a faint voice coming from the radio. It was Spider.
"Guys, can you hear me?" Spider said calmly. Hammer and Glass breathed a sigh of relief as they finally got in contact with Spider through the radio.
"Spider, thank god you're alive. We need your help," Hammer said urgently.
"I'm here. What's going on?" Spider replied.
"We've been set up by our new employer, and we're being targeted by an assassin named Storm," Glass explained.
Spider hesitated for a moment before responding, "I've got some intel on Storm. He's one of the best in the business, but I can help you take him down."
Before Spider could say more, their radio crackled with a sudden burst of static. The employer's voice came through, "You two have caused me quite a bit of trouble. It's time to end this."
Glass grabbed the radio, "What the hell is going on? We did what you asked!"
"You were sloppy, and now you're a liability," the employer replied coldly.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang through the radio, and Hammer and Glass instinctively hit the ground. They exchanged a terrified look before realizing that the shot had come through the radio.
"Spider, are you there?" Hammer asked, his voice shaking.
Hammer and Glass scrambled to their feet, knowing they had to get out of there before Storm arrived. They grabbed their weapons and started running towards the exit, their hearts pounding in their chests.
As they burst out of the building, they looked around frantically for any sign of Storm. But instead, all they saw was Spider's abandoned radio lying on the ground.
"Oh no," Glass whispered, fear and despair creeping into her voice. "I think they got him."
Hammer felt a lump form in his throat as he realized that their only source of help had likely been silenced for good. But there was no time to mourn. They had to keep moving if they wanted to stay alive.
As they sprinted down the street, Hammer and Glass could hear the sound of footsteps echoing behind them. They dared not look back, knowing that any distraction could be fatal.
They ducked into an alleyway and crouched behind a dumpster, trying to catch their breath and come up with a plan. But they knew that time was running out, and they had to act fast if they wanted to survive the night.
Hammer looked over at Glass and saw the determination in her eyes. He knew that they were in this together, and they would do whatever it takes to make it out alive.
"We have to keep moving," Hammer said, his voice steady despite the fear that gnawed at his insides. "We can't let them catch us."
Glass nodded in agreement, and they both took a deep breath before emerging from their hiding spot and continuing down the darkened street.
They had no idea where they were going or how they would escape the grip of their pursuers, but they knew that they had each other. And that was all they needed to keep fighting, no matter what horrors lay ahead.
Hammer and Glass were devastated to hear that Spider was no longer around to help them. They knew that he was one of the most reliable people they could count on, and his absence was a huge blow to their operation.
Despite this setback, they decided to press on with their mission. They had come too far to give up now. They spent several days gathering information and formulating a plan of attack. Malk and Glass worked together to come up with a strategy, while Hammer went out to gather more intel.
Finally, the day of the operation arrived. They put their plan into action, and things seemed to be going smoothly at first. They were able to get past the security measures and reach their target without being detected.
But then, things took a turn for the worse. They found themselves in a firefight with the target's guards, and things were not looking good. Hammer was hit in the shoulder, and Glass was struggling to hold her ground.
Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a man clad in black, with a face mask and an assault rifle. He mowed down the guards with ease, and then turned to Hammer and Glass.
"Come with me if you want to live," he said in a gruff voice.
Hammer and Glass didn't hesitate. They followed the mysterious stranger out of the building and into a waiting van. As they sped away from the scene, they couldn't help but wonder who this man was and what his motivations were.
As the van sped away from the building, Hammer and Glass exchanged a nervous glance. They were grateful to the stranger for saving their lives, but they couldn't help but feel uneasy about the bunny mask he wore.
"Who are you?" Hammer asked, his voice shaking slightly.
"You can call me The Rabbit," the stranger replied, his voice deep and gruff. "I work for a group that opposes your employer. We've been watching you for a while, and we knew that you were planning to take down your target. We figured we could use your help."
Hammer and Glass looked at each other, unsure of what to say. They had never heard of The Rabbit or his group before, but they knew that they were in over their heads.
"What do you want from us?" Glass asked.
"We want you to join us," The Rabbit said. "We have a mission that we need your help with. It's a dangerous mission, but we think you're the right people for the job."
Hammer and Glass looked at each other, considering the offer. They knew that they were in no position to refuse.
"What's the mission?" Hammer asked.
The Rabbit smiled behind his mask. "I'll tell you all about it when we get back to our base," he said. "For now, just relax and enjoy the ride."
Hammer and Glass leaned back in their seats, unsure of what the future held. They had gone from being hired guns to being pawns in a larger game, and they weren't sure if they were ready for what was to come. But one thing was certain: they were no longer alone in this fight. They had The Rabbit and his group on their side, and that was something they could take comfort in.
