Chapter 5

The girls were laughing while cheering talking about when we were younger.
I was sitting next to Jaden at the outdoor bar while he was behind the counter mixing up drinks for our guest
"Bud what's with the face"
"Yeah bud what is with the fave?"
Avani mocked Jaden sitting next to me
"Nothing it's just Alex cooper invited me to go on her podcast"
I sighed taking a slip of my bud light
"What's wrong with that?"
Avani moved her head on top of my shoulder looking at my phone
"I don't it's just the last time I was on a podcast it was a disaster"
I put in down my phone crossing my arms together
"So what?"
"So what? What are the questions she going to ask? Like why I.."
I stopped talking before Jaden was going to confront me about why I should go on a podcast and talk about my trauma.
"You know what I'm going to the bathroom"
I stood up from the chair walking away from the bar seeing Quinton go to the front of the house following him
"I didn't know you were behind me"
Quinton chuckled leaning against the fence giving me a cigarette
"Don't be surprised like I always did at 18"
I chuckled putting the lighter against the cigarette laying my head back closing my eyes
"You know Jaden would kill you if he saw you like this"
I opened my eyes flipping off Quinton
"Can you cover me up for a bit?"
I got my keys from my pocket turning on the car walking to my car
seeing Quinton running after me
"Girl you can't just leave your party"
"I forgot I need to run an errand I will be back"
I closed my window on Quinton driving away.

I drove to a neighborhood I've never thought I would come back after I had cooper but now I am here.
"Brooke what are you doing here?"
I barged into my old friend house walking straight to the kitchen
"I can't kept this a secret so we are going to start now."
I shouted going in the fridge taking out tequila
"Baby what do you mean"
The man placed his body against me
"I'm sorry Matt but we were only a one night stand and I'm sick of getting messages from you asking for me when I'm a wife and mother so please stop"
"Then fucking leave"
He yelled breaking glass on the floor
"Never contact me again."
I took the bottle going back in the car speeding back to the house.
"That was fast" Quinton joked still in the same position and space he was in when I left
"Couldn't forget the big stuff"
I tapped Quinton's shoulder while walking back to the backyard.

" can we just have a normal bbq I didn't cook food for nothing" Jaden said rolling his eyes of madness from his tone
"Babe calm down" I said under my breath rubbing Jaden's back placing the tequila on the table "kids time for food" Bryce shouted making all the kids run to the table tripping over wet but they were talking or on their phones
"Jarod off that" Josh took his son phone out of his hands
"Oh Comon dad I was busy" "this is more important now help your sister"
Jarod groaned "if our kids ever turn into that I will send them to the adoption center" Jaden whispered to me making me laugh "don't worry we won't let that happen" I said whispering back at him

Then it was time for the fireworks Bryce and josh were in charge of the fireworks everyone was sitting with there fam waiting for the fireworks "hopefully there not going to burn themselves like 10 years ago" Noah said making the adults laugh
After everyone left besides Josh and nessa "today was fun everyone totally needed it" nessa said sitting on the kitchen counter "yeah even the kids, they have been begging to see there cousins again" "Gisela has been wanting to see Ellie , god they are so cute together" Nessa said staring at a photo when Ellie and Gisela together when they were tiny babies "common Gisela we got to get going" Josh said shouting up the stairs "I'm coming daddy" gisela groaned "hey watch it, stay my baby for years don't ever turn into a teenager" gisela looked at josh confused "jarod lets go" they left the house "alright kiddos in bed" jaden said standing in front of the tv blocking the tv from the kids
"But dad" Ellie groaned "no in bed now"
