Thankful for the fact that the library's bookshelves were blocking them from the rest of the students who actually go to the library at lunch, Calum gives Michael a gentle little kisses on the lips.
Luke, jaw clenched in jealousy, was trying his hardest to pretend he wasn't there. In his mind, he felt like one of those seagulls from 'Finding Nemo' who went "mine, mine, mine" at fish.
"Why are we going to the library?" Luke had asked in confusion when Calum & Michael had told him that's where they were spending lunch. Needless to say, he now knows why they were going to the library.
"And why did I have to be here?" Luke asks in a grumble, crossing his arms over his chest as he leans against the wall.
"You don't" Calum mumbles, barely removing his lips from Michael's.
Luke groans, "Fine, I'm leaving", but as he goes to stand up, a hand grabs his wrist to stop him.
"No" is all Michael says, looking at Luke with pleading eyes, "Stay".
"Okay" Luke says in shock, leaning back up against the wall.
"Get off of me" Michael mumbles under his breath as he gently pushes Calum off onto the spot beside them.
Calum just stares at Michael for a moment, feeling rejected. Michael just stares at his hands, as if trying to ignore him. With an annoyed huff, Calum jumps to his feet and storms off.
Luke & Michael share a look of confusion before watching Calum through the gaps in the book shelves. As soon as he leaves the library, Luke scoots closer to Michael, grabs the front of his shirt, pulls him closer, and connects their lips together.
"Mine" he mumbles against Michael lips.
"Always" Michael says, smiling slightly before starting to kiss back.
A few minutes pass without interruption, then suddenly the school librarian, a stack of books in her arms, is stepping over Michael's legs while saying "This is a library, not a bedroom, save it for after school".
At some point in their make out session, Luke had climbed onto Michael to straddle his legs. With his cheeks turning red with embarrassment, Luke slips onto the space beside Michael.
"Thank you" the librarian says with a smile as she sets a book on the shelf before walking off.
The two boys start giggling quietly, and Luke nuzzles his face into the crook of Michael's neck to hide his face.
"Do you think Cal's okay?" Michael asks worriedly once they stop giggling. Luke hums quietly, running his hand up Michael's chest to his shoulder.
"I'm sure he'll be fine" Luke mumbles against Michael's neck, his fingers playing with the collar of the red haired boy's shirt.
"I hope so" Michael sighs, not wanting to get worked up over something so small.
The end of lunch bell rings, causing both boys to groan in disappointment. Michael gives Luke a tight hug, burying his face into the blond's hair.
They stand up and leave the library in silence, their hands brushing together as they walk. Luckily enough, their next class- Music- was together, so they didn't have to separate again.
When they get to the music room, Calum is leaning against the wall beside the port rack, his head bent back to stare at the ceiling. As he looks towards them, Michael notices that he'd been crying and a pang of guilt jabs him in the gut.
Taking a small step away from Luke, Michael runs his fingers through his messy, red hair. "You okay, Cal?" He asks in concern, placing a hand on his boyfriend's waist.
