Anne dela Cruz, my friend since college She is the reason that I met my husband, Pete. That was her 18th birthday party.

"Remember what I told you; before you make any decisions, make sure that there will be no more problems in the future." I said. While we're eating lunch at the nearest Filipino restaurant. Her favorite is lechon belly at Mang Kanor restaurant near the market.

"Ok, anyway, how's your mom?" Anne asked. She knows my mom. She always gets drunk on weekends. Every little party in town she'd attended I'm hoping to find Dad and talk to him.

"She's fine; actually, I notice she's changed now, unlike before. She was in love," I said.

"In love...? by who?" Anne clarified

"She's in love with a guy the same age as me. Do you think if I let her, I will need to talk to them? I am just wondering if their relationship is serious. I don't want to hurt mom anymore," I told Anne.

"Do you know Bryan Arguillas?" I added

"I knew him; why?" Anne asked me too; we both knew that he was our schoolmate. I just want to confirm if she remembers that guy.

"He said he was gay, but now he is my mom's boyfriend." I said

"Oh! Nice, maybe he has changed and realized something; you know, "love is blind," as they said." Anne replied.

"But he is in a relationship with Mom; I don't think that is a good idea."

"Sheila... remember that is your mom." She can handle herself, but if you want to encourage her or say something bad, it might hurt her feelings too." Anne said

"What should I do now?" I replied with a sigh.

"Just give her time; if they are really for each other, they will stay forever. Let your mom decide for her own happiness. "Don't you want her to be happy?" Anne told me.

I was stunned for a moment by what she said. I understand, but it is still difficult for me to accept the reality that she is in a relationship with a guy my age. Knowing that Bryan is my husband's best friend and we had a threesome with him before It feels like burning my head.

"Anyway, don't forget my wedding day; it will be held at the Silver Sky Hotel this coming Friday. Note, 9 a.m., ok?" Anne added.

We separated in different ways after our lunch. I went home, while Anne drove on the Skyway going home.

Two days before Anne's wedding, she called me, and I was shocked by what she told me on the phone.

"Oh, Sheila, this is what happened. And don't ever think that I'm a freak or something, okay? "It just happened," she said.

"Alright, I'm cooking now. I will put my phone on the table with a loudspeaker so that I can hear you, okay? Go..." I said to let her speak as long as she wanted.

"Okay, this is what it was."

Anne told me that she had a crush on Benny, a longtime best friend of her boyfriend Johnny. She often mentions that name, but I never mind it. All I knew was her relationship with Johnny. But this time is different. Her feelings keep her bothered, and as she thinks of Johnny, she thinks that her feelings might change for Benny. She was more concerned right now.

"Just focus on what you have with Johnny; don't do anything or cheat on him. I tell you that's bad for Johnny. You know he took so much effort to save money for your wedding." I told Anne.

"Yeah, I know, thanks!" Anne said. Seems that she was agreed what I've told her. I'm happy for her. Like what they said. "Life is full of surprises," but it depends on us and how we appreciate them.
