Dawn

The gentle light of the sun caressed my face, barely noticeable as I stood at the entrance of the Jedi Temple, a place of peace and knowledge, but I did not stand alone, as the hand on my shoulder reminded me

"I appreciate you coming with me, Icstallo"

The voice of my master made me look up at him and nod ever so slightly

"Of course, master"

We were waiting for my master's friend, who said she had found someone during her travels, a young soul who suffered through great loss and desperately needed guidance.

Of course, I was more than eager to offer a somewhat friendly hand to soften the pain when--

"There you are!"

In no time, my master was suddenly embraced by his friend, another Jedi knight, and with her, a kid about my age, Mirialan. Her eyes lit up before she ran to me

"You're so pretty! And blue!"

She immediately got ahold of my hands and smiled. I was expecting to find someone deeply distraught, untrusting even, but this...this was hardly it

"Uhh, I am Chiss, yes, but thank you"

That's when her savior approached and stood between us

"Ushirie, this is Icstallo, she'll be your friend during your stay here"

Then, she looked at me with a smile

"Isn't that right?"

I looked at her for a moment before I mentally sighed and turned to the girl

"Of course. Feel free to tell me if I can assist you in some way"

"Do you promise?"

This girl looked at me as if I was making an oath as great as the Jedi themselves. I wasn't one to leave her waiting long

"I...do"

Hearing this brought the biggest of smiles to her face, and before I knew it I was in her arms

"Yay! A new friend!"

To say I was confused would be an understatement, and when I looked at the adults only to find them just as confused, I knew I was in for something...special

Morning

I walked through the halls of the place I had grown to call home, somewhat of a habit I've developed over the years. The mornings were quite peaceful here

Which was why the sound of laughter immediately caused intrigue

I leaned on the wall as I peeked into the scene. I found Ushirie in the training grounds, below a tree and surrounded by her peers, who appeared to be having the time of their life

It came as no surprise that the young girl would be popular among her peers, her bright and cheerful attitude is not something you find in a Jedi often

But then, she spotted me, and with a smile, she reached out

"Icstallo! Come here!"

Just like that, all eyes were on me, to which I waved

"I don't mean to interrupt"

"Not at all, come on!"

Ushirie eagerly patted the spot beside her before addressing the others with that same smile

"She's my best friend, we met since day one!"

I did not have the heart to turn her down
