Maxon/America After the selection

The law/ lunch

I started to think about what maxon said in the safe room. He said that know one cared about him changing the law but I knew that was a lie. I knew a lot of people that were happy about what he is doing. I started to walk up the the kings office. I opened the door to see maxon sitting at his desk. He had his hands behind his head.

" Maxon? Can I come in?" I asked as I opened the door more.

" Oh America yes come in. What do you need my dear?"

" Well dear I was just wondering how the castes were coming. I remaber you saying something about the people not being happy in the safe room."

" Oh that it is just fine. I am not sure how to get the fives gone now."

I started to think for a second. My caste would be gone soon. Was I ready for that? I mean my whole life till now I have been a five. I feel like I could never give that up.

" I am not sure I can help you with that. But I can take you out of here and take you on a walk to clear your head."

" That sound wonderful my love but I have so much work to do. Maybe another time. Oh is that lunch still on for today?"

" Yes it is will you be coming? I know kriss would LOVE to see you. You know her she still loves you and is mad at me for winning. I don't think I can take her on alone."

" Oh yes I know and I kinda have to be there to tell them about the baby's. I also have to talk to the prince.

" Ok well than I will see you there."

I left the office and started to walk down to the woman's room. I hade a hour or two before I had to get to the lunch. I got to the woman's room and sat down in my favortie sit in the room. It was one next to the window so I could look out side. I grab a book on my way over and sat in the chair and started to read. I finished the first page when I heard someone screaming and came in than slamed the door.

" What the!!!! Kriss? Are you ok?"

" Oh my Queen! I am so sorry to have you hear that."

" It is fine but you are not. What is wrong?"

" Oh... Me and the prince just had a fight that is all. I really don't feel like getting into it."

" I understand that but I have to ask... Um... Was it about uh... Maxon?" I asked and than wented to take it back so bad. She stood looking at me . I could see she was thinking about her awenser. She opened her mouth twice but said nothing. Than she said

" You won't get mad at me right?"

I sat there about tell if it gets me mad than don't say. Than I would walk away but that is not what I did.

" I will not get mad at you. Is promise."

" Ok. Well than yes it was about maxon. I know you can tell I still have feelings for him."

" Um... Yes I can. Sorry I did not want to sound mad when I said it."

" You are fine. I would not blame you if you were mad at me. I know it has been like four years but I still love him with all my heart."

When she said that I wanted to get up out of my sit and walk up to her and slap her. But I knew I could not so I thought otherwise of it.

" Maybe we should put off the lunch till next time you guys come back." I said wanting her out of here as fast a possible. I did not want to see her or hear from her for a long time.

" I think that is best. We will see you tonight for dinner then or in the morning to leave. I must go now to tell the prince goodbye Queen America."

" Goodbye Princess Kriss." I hated saying those words.
