Freya's POV

A few months after Astrid tried to kill me, I was on Berk for the first time when the gang and I had been called back after a hit-and-run attack. I had been introduced to Hiccup's dad and also caught up on their situation with a viking called 'Dagur the Deranged'. Stoic had recommended I stay behind while the gang went back to the Edge to prepare it for an attack that we expected to happen in at least two days' time. I had also volunteered to train some of Berk's Vikings to become Dragon Riders themselves for extra protection since the group wouldn't be there twenty-four-seven.

Hiccup was slightly hesitant about leaving me behind on Berk, a place that I'd never been before with strange people I had never met before, especially after such a devastating attack. But I convinced him that I would be fine and that he should go back to the Edge and make sure that the others were fine and Dagur hadn't attacked there instead of Berk again. Hiccup and I had grown close over the past five months and I had started to develop feelings for the brown-haired Dragon Rider.

"If you're absolutely positive that you'll be fine, I'll leave." He stated stubbornly and I laughed and shook my head at his dorkiness.

"Hiccup, I'll be fine, I promise." I told him and he nodded, "Just go and make sure everyone on the Edge is okay," He mounted Toothless and Eclipse warbled a goodbye towards him. Toothless warbled back, making me burst into laughter.

Hiccup smiled before he tapped Toothless and said, "Come on bud!" They took off towards the sun and Eclipse and I turned around, starting to walk towards the Dragon Academy.

Once we got there we found all of the recruits standing in line, their dragons wreaking havoc as they played around. Eclipse and I stood at the entrance, looks of shock written on our faces. We shared a surprised look before we started to walk further in and everyone froze in their tracks. A short boy with dark, almost jet-black hair, that looked alot like Snotlout was staring at me as though I was a Valkyrie sent from the halls of Valhalla.

"Oh, I didn't know we'd be taught by an angel..." the boy said while looking at me suggestively. A shiver went down my spine and I grimaced a bit at him.

"Um...number one, ew. Number two, I'm guessing you're Gustave.." I said and pointed at him. He looked surprised, his brown eyes went wide and he glanced from me to the others in the line. I giggled a bit and raised a hand to my mouth.

"Hiccup told me a bit about all of you before he left," I looked over all of them, "You." I pointed toward a woman with brown hair that stood next to two older men.

"You're Brunhilde, and you two are Bucket and Mulch, that's Spitelout," I pointed to a man with a long light-brown beard then to his blonde-bearded friend that was wearing a bucket on his head, and then to a man that looked almost identical to Snotlout, "Then you're... um," I saw an old woman that held a staff.

"Oh! You're Gothi!" I smiled brightly and the old woman gave me a nod and a soft smile back, "You all would like to become Dragon Riders, yes?" The Berkeans that volunteered cheered and nodded in response.

"Well team, it's not all fun and games." My bright expression dimmed into a serious look, "It's dangerous, and risky, and hard. One wrong move and you and your entire team could be killed."

Brunhilde flinched at my words before she screamed and ran off. I looked from the running woman to the rest of the group.

"Huh, I tried sugarcoating it..." I shrugged and the others snickered a little bit, "Well, for those of you that stayed, I assume you'd like to meet your dragons?"

They answered me with excited whoops and yells as I turned and walked away towards a group of brooms and mops that leaned against the wall.

"Freya, you're not really going to give them dragons already, are you?" Eclipse asked as she walked behind me. I shook my head and grasped the brooms.
