God Wants To Use You To Help His People
1 Chronicles 14:1-2
ESV
14 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, also masons and carpenters to build a house for him. 2 And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.I love this because it speaks a great lesson.
David knew that kingdom was exalted for the sake of God's people. When you use your gift, God will grow and bless you, He will expand and do abundantly but not for your glory but for His people!
We aren't here to receive praise, worship, and glory for all God has done. Nope, we are here to serve and be used by God for Him to use us to help His people.
Okay, let me repeat. He wants to use you to help people and impact their lives.
When we use our gifts and talents, they aren't for us but for each other. We use our gifts to help others, give joy, heal, and grow each other. God will expand your gift and make you reach many people not known but instead to help reach more of His people.
The truth is, God desires to help His people through you. We are all servants of God. We all are His workers. We are all here to serve Him.
I love how David knew that was the reason why his kingdom was highly exalted. I love that he didn't think highly of himself and let pride take over him.
Let's remember to keep our focus on God foremost and remember that the calling and gifts He has for us are so He can help others through us. Your desire to impact people's lives isn't yours but God who wants to use you. He places specific desires in your heart so you can carry out His will for others.
Your songs will bring healing because He wants to heal. Your books will impact and inspire because He wants to inspire His people. Remember who placed the desire in you and what He wants to do in you.
Sometimes, we get carried away thinking about our platforms and our lives when we aren't living for ourselves anymore. We are living for God. You are not working hard for yourself but for God.
Remove the I in your thoughts with God, and it will change your life.
From a Bible commentary at Enduring Word:
So David knew: David knew two things that made his reign great. Every godly leader should know these two things well.
· David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel: David knew that God called him and established him over Israel.
· His kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel: David knew God wanted to use him as a channel to bless His people. It was not for David's sake that he was lifted, but for the sake of His people Israel.
