In Cali We Are

Ryan POV

Arriving in Cali, you would think the vibe amongst us friends would be exciting.

Instead we were frustrated, walking on eggshells around the elephant in the room that was Senia and Dion. Getting off the plane, the boys walked off with Dion as Senia stayed close by me.

The airport was huge, bigger than the one back home. It was very pretty in here, decorated with stunning lights and pretty chandeliers in the hallway.

The floors were glossy as the sound of peoples shoes scuffed flawlessly on the ground. The airport was busy, lots of people were rushing to their terminal as we were getting off. A soft tug on my arm broke my gaze as Senia latched on to me.

Her hand slithered down into mine as we followed the boys to baggage claim. Maurice and Dion were just a few feet in front of us, talking a little some as we came across our bags.

I immediately spotted my bag as it was the first one rolling down the isle. Maurice reached it first, grabbing it for me as I another bag tumbled down.

Senia let go of my hand as it was hers trying to grab it before Dion could. He stepped in front of her, blocking her from getting her bag, he grabbed it off the isle and placed it down for her as she rubbed her arm nervously.

Senia: Thanks.." she said as he turned around. He nodded, but didn't say anything as he turned for his bag. She sighed as she grabbed her bag and rolled away. The girls and I followed her towards the exit as the boys waited for their bags.

NIque: Ryan, tell your Mom we landed." she said.

Me: I'll call her when we are all outside the airport." I said turning for the boys. They were trugging along with Dion as he had a face full of stone.

Turning back to Senia, she too shared the same stonewall sour face. We stayed beside her as we got outside, there were many taxis and cars dropping and picking people up.

Me: let me call my mom." I said as we did not know where to go from here. Pressing on her name, it rang once before her excited energy came through the phone.

Mom: Your here!!!!!" she squealed into the phone.

Me: Yes we are outside the airport." I laughed a little as I stepped away.

Mom: Okay awesome there should be someone outside with our last name on the sign sweetie." she said. I squinted my eyes, looking at the many taxi goers with signs in our hands.

Me: You sure mom? I don't see anyone." I said as I slowly walked around.

Mom: you should baby, he said he was there." she said a little worried. I frowned a bit more, walking around the curb a little further as a man standing in front of a sprinter van held a sign with my last name on it.

Me: I see him now mom." I said as I waved at him. He waved back eagerly as I quickly walked back to my friends.

Mom: okay good! When you guys get to the Airbnb I want you guys to get settled in and get ready to come have dinner with us." she said as I sighed.

Me: Dinner?" I groaned.

Mom: Yes dinner, I haven't seen you in weeks Ryan.." she groaned.

Mom: you don't want to see your mom huh?"

Me: no mom it is not that." I mumbled as I looked at Senia.

Mom: what's wrong?" she said, concerned now.

Mom: you and Maurice alright?"

Me: Yes we are fine, it is not us." I said turning away.

Me: Senia and Dion..kinda broke up." I said as she gasped
