Chapter 15. The Heartbreak of a Genius

Jennie stood up, then left her room.

Jisoo was all alone now.

Weeks started to pass by and Sana kept trying to reach Jisoo

But Jisoo changed emails, changed numbers, and stopped communicating with everyone.

Including Nam Joon.

One day...

Jisoo was at the same mall where she was taking autographs.

Despite not feeling well she continued accommodating her fans.

She also played the rewind video of her previous games, flashed on the screen.

Her fans were thrilled to see it, including a director who was willing to scout her for championship gaming.

After the big crowd, she stood up feeling exhausted.

Just then, Nam Joon arrived and saw her.

He went towards her and grabbed her arm, pulling her with him.

They went to the staircase area near the fire exit where there were no other people.

"Why are you avoiding me? It's been weeks." Nam Joon told her.

"Look...Nam Joon....I...what we are doing right now..I don't get it. You hated me, I am dumb....we just got closer when you tutored me...and now we are acting as if we are lovers?" Jisoo replied

"So what we did last night? My confession.....wasn't that enough to prove that I fell in love with you? And your feelings for me back then on the notebook...was that all a lie?" Nam Joon asked.

"That was all in the past." Jisoo felt a lump in her throat.

"So you don't love me anymore?" Nam Joon asked.

"After what we did last night....I realized....I don't feel the same way about you anymore Nam Joon."

Jisoo's face was stern and Nam Joon could see how serious she was.

"So please...just....just stop chasing me now."

As soon as Jisoo walked away, Nam Joon stood there feeling betrayed, embarassed, and offended.

It felt as if he was the only valuing what happened to them a long time.

It seemed as if he was too stuck in the past and invested so much emotion between them.

That night...

At Nam Joon's car....

He was drinking the 2nd bottle of beer

He was parking near the han river..

His other hand was resting on the steering wheel, his other hand was on the bottled beer.

His tears flooded down his face.

What happened to me? I am the smartest guy in the school and yet I am crying for a mere stupid gamer girl....He thought.

He looked at the front seat beside him and his eyes softened seeing Jisoo.

She was smiling at him so widely like she used to do back then.

He reached out to her but realized it was all an illusion.

At Jisoo's room...

The one who got left, is not the only one who is heartbroken....but the one who left as well.

Like me..Jisoo thought.

She laid down, her eyes were now swollen due to crying.

Just then her door opened.

"Hey...."

She instantly sat up and saw Jiyeon.

She was bringing her a tray full of fruits.

"Mom told me to bring this to you."

She placed the tray on her bedside table.

Jiyeon was about to leave the room again as she was busy with being the new CEO when...

"Unnie....can you stay here for a bit?"

Jiyeon turned.

She then went to sit beside her and Jisoo instantly hugged her.

She started sobbing...

"I don't know what's wrong with you Jisoo...but just know that I am a busy person."

Despite Jiyeon saying such words, she still had a soft spot for Jisoo.

She caressed her back, then she let her lay down, her head on her lap.

She knows that it has something to do with love

"Unnie...am I a bad person?"

"Mwo?"

"I told the guy I love that I don't love him anymore..."

"Is that Nam Joon?"

Jisoo nodded.

"Damn...that tutor guy again.."

"As much as I would like to love him....I also know that we were not meant for each other."

"Jisoo....there are still plenty of fishes on the sea...I know I have never been a good sister, but right now I am telling you to not waste your emotions on him....I know it isn't easy...but...I really don't want to see you getting sad all the time...."

Jiyeon realized that Jisoo had already fell asleep due to the crying.

She gently laid her on the bed, covered her with a blanket and then she left her room.
