Get To Work

S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N watched as Donnie's robotic arms flew around, grabbing pieces, sticking them together at high speeds, and Donnie mumbling to himself as he worked. Even though he had told S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N to get him some dinner, he hadn't touched it.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. "On it!" Just as the drone started to fly over, Donnie stopped him.

"S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N."

"Yeah?

"Don't let them in."

Another knock.

"Okay," S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N said, hovering at the door.

"What if it's Raph? You're not mad at-"

"If it was important, he'd let us know. The door's locked, right? You know what, it doesn't matter." He reached out to hit a button that would lock the door, missing a few times before finally pushing it.

"If you don't mind me asking, what are you making?"

"I'm fixing the Donnie Pod buckles, so Leo- So people can't just hit it and put themselves in danger."

He continued working.

---- 2 Hours Later -----

"Donnie?"

No response.

"Donnie?"

His head was down on the table, his robotic limbs still flying. They weren't as fast as before, though.

The turtle slowly raised his head. "Huh? What? Time is it....." He flipped down his goggles so he could see. His room was pitch black.

"Two in the morning," S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N answered as Donnie yawned.

"Are you sure you don't want to go to sleep?"

"I'm sure. I'm almost done anyway."

"By almost done do you mean you'll be done in a few minutes, or hours?"

"I'll be done in minutes if everything goes right, which it will. Can you pass me that coffee?" The drone picked up the coffee he had got Donnie an hour ago. It wasn't hot anymore, but the turtle didn't care. He did this a lot, staying up all night working.

S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N didn't see when they would need to use the Donnie Pods again, unless somehow the Krang returned. But Donnie insisted on making it anyway, in case they ever needed it, Krang or not.

"Done! Now I just have to attach it to the pods-" He tried getting up, then realized his legs were asleep.

He fell back into his chair.

Maybe I should just go to sleep.

No. I just have to attach it, real fast.

"Donnie?" He snapped his head up to the door. There stood his brother, again, looking in from the doorway. "You've been up for hours. You need to sleep," Raph said. "It'll only take a few minutes! I just have to-" Before he could finish, his brother interrupted him.

"You're going to sleep. You can finish it in the morning." Raph scooped his brother up and flopped him onto his bed.

"Hey-"

"You've been pulling all-nighters way too much, Don. Please, just sleep."

Apparently he didn't know how much he needed to go to sleep, because as soon as he closed his eyes he was out.
