A Queen's Sorrow

The sky crackled with lightning as Gaja fought my friends. I sat with my people, talking and enjoying the fight above.

‘Heck yeah, dodge him!’

I thought as I saw Noelle fly past the lightning blasts. I was surprised to see Finral using offensive magic and defensive magic at the same time. Mimosa too had some powerful attack spells.

Where the hell was Asta though? Nero must be with him as well. It’s alright. I know they’ll be alright.

My people, most of who were now in their animal forms, had snuggled up to me. My tails covered them protectively from the havoc in the skies.

“I’m glad that you’ve returned my queen”

I smiled at him, giving gentle pats.

“So will you be ruling as well?” one of them asked.

“You have your queen Lolopechka and I heard she’s great. Why would you need me as well?”

“I know, Queen Lolopechka is a great queen but you’re… you are our queen, from the start till the end”

I smiled warmly but didn’t reply.

‘Being a queen again…? It’s not that easy, but especially not now…’

“Hey, I’m a bit curious but is Sir Ferous alive?” I asked them.

“Hmm? Lord Ferous, yup he’s still alive”

“He’s old though”

“But he’s still scary!”

They chatted amongst themselves while I listened closely.

‘If Sir Ferous is here… oh crap’

After some time, Gaja found me. The test was over and now it was time to see the queen.

I bid my goodbye to my people, promising I’ll visit again. Then I left along with Gaja.

We stood before the doors along with Noelle, Mimosa, and Finral.

“Rey! Where were you?” Noelle asked me, probably angry.

“I was busy chatting with my people”

“We were fighting for our lives you know” Noelle remarked pouting.

“Shut up Noe, I know it was a test”

“You knew?!” They asked shocked.

“Yep, Gaja conducted similar tests back when I ruled as well. It was quite funny, to be honest”

“Funny?!”

“We shouldn’t make the Queen wait, so let’s enter” Gaja said as he opened the doors.

Asta greeted us, waving and we greeted him back, glad that he was fine and well.

“The Queen has arrived” Gaja announced as Queen Lolopechka strolled up to us.

She looked majestic and beautiful. She was powerful but at the same time, her eyes shown with immense kindness. And I knew, the heart kingdom got a perfect queen.

“She’s so beautiful! Truly like a goddess” Finral bellowed then proceeded to slam his head to the ground, yelling
“Damn it! I should have eyes only for her!”

‘What the heck is up with him?’

“Citizens of Clover kingdom…” The Queen began and we listened in “…please lend us your strength”
