The magic knights roamed the wrecked village searching for her. Unbeknownst to them, a lady had spotted them and then ran off to warn her fellow companions.

“The magic knights are here”

“Huh? How? Did they manage to track us?”

“Let me check” One of them as they used a deduction spell on the unconscious Reyana and Marie. They were astonished to find Reyana’s body suddenly glowing.

“They’re able to track her”

“Must be the bird spell this pest did”

“Can we stop it?”

“Let me see, give me those cuffs”

One of them brought 2 cuffs with special abilities. She then knelt and put the cuffs on both Reyana and Marie.

“This should cancel her mana so her spell won’t be able to track her”

“Great idea! But we should leave. They’re still searching”

“Wait a bit, and then we’ll go”

The raven flew in front of them as they ran along, but suddenly she stopped.

“Huh? What’s wrong?” Captain Yami asked. The raven quickly flew to Captain Yami’s hands before sitting down weakly.

“What’s wrong with her?” Noelle asked

“I don’t know, maybe something happened to Re-” Captain Nozel quickly shut up receiving several painful glares.

The raven painfully cawed as Captain Yami tried to ease its pain.

“Hey it's okay, we’re so close. Don’t give out on us now”

The raven closed her eyes before disintegrating into sparkles, leaving the rest in terror.

“No…” Noelle covered her mouth in shock.

“Rey…shit”

“Captain Yami? What now?”

Captain Yami didn’t respond, as he continued to stare into his empty hands where the raven had lain.

Everybody had the same terrifying thought running through their minds but nobody dared to say it aloud.

“Continue searching, they might still be here and we can’t let them get away” Captain Fuegoleon's words were calm but inside him was a raging firestorm. He couldn't wait to get his hands on the wretches who took them.

Hours passed and they continued searching till sunset. Soon enough the harsh realization settled in them and they had no choice but to return to the royal capital. They had to come up with a new plan.

They were dead silent on their return journey. Guilt, anger, and sadness swirled in each one of them as they fought their own battles in their heads.

Captain William still felt zoned out, not yet registering that this was happening. The news had shocked him beyond anything and for the first time, he felt immense hatred, for those who had done this.

Captain Fuegoleon knew Reyana was strong, that she’ll be able to even take care of Marie. But after seeing the Raven fade away he couldn’t help but worry something really bad had happened to her.

Captain Nozel had his own battle in his head. He was upset by this whole cause but whenever he saw Noelle’s broken expression, rage filled him. He would make sure that those bastards would pay for what they did.
