We breathed in the cold air of evening,
Simmering down the anger of an
uneventful day,
My arm around her waist,
With her head resting carefully on my pillow shoulder,
Cushioning her exhausted body,
I heard her sigh deeply,
And instinctively tightened my hold around her,
"What's the best thing about every day
coming to an end?"
She asked me,
Her head tilting up so that her beautiful
eyes could look into mine,
Sparkling with curiosity and the reflection of the moon as it made it's entrance,
"This is it,"
I said simply,
My lips involuntarily smiling at her,
Because it doesn't matter if my day was not so good,
Or if I wished I just died sometimes,
Just as long as I got to be with her when it ended,
Holding her close to me as if my whole life depended on the heat from her body,
That is the best part of ending every one of my days.
