Chapter 1

Shen Wei lives alone after her adopted parents died, left behind a house and money for her to survive till she got a permanent job in the Dragon City University or known as DCU. Shen Wei is an orphan. She was found by the Shen family since she was baby. She didn't know who is actually her biological parents but she knows her adopted parents found her on the side road near the jungle with a trouble heart. Her heart is weak but weirdly that she is still alive till now.

Shen Wei and her adopted parents lived in a secluded area and not socialize with the other people. But Shen Wei has an interest on the mutation gene because of a reason in her life, then she tried to socialize with the others through her studies since child. However, the fate is not in her side when most of the people hate her for unknown reason except a very few of them who can accept her like Guo Changcheng, Wang Zheng and Chu Suzhi. Maybe she is too special that the people hate her 😜. But that situation is not a reason for her to not be a lecturer in bio-engineering.

"Shen Wei, Xiao Guo asked a rest today. She is not feeling well. So, about her work today..."

"It's okay, Chu ge. I will replace her today to observe on that mutation gene. Please take care of her very well, okay? Bring her to the hospital if her condition is becoming worse," Shen Wei replied as Chu called her phone to let her know about Guo's condition right now.

Chu and Guo are married before Guo furthered her master study under Shen Wei. Chu is a policeman who once saved Shen Wei's life and their ages are gapped for 10 years. How? Back then, Shen Wei was 10 years old when a young policeman who is 20 years old saved her from that incident. Shen Wei was kidnapped and almost ate by a human beast in the dark alley. At that time, Chu saw that incident and he bravely saved Shen Wei from that human beast even though he just entered the police field. Shen Wei cried in his hold till her parents got her back in the police station.

And since that, their relationship is beyond a police and a victim, but not a lover. Chu met with Guo when Shen Wei brought Guo to the hiking in the Kunlun Mountain to find the mutation gene for their research about two years ago and Chu followed Shen Wei to make sure Shen Wei is safe in the hiking. From that, Chu met with Guo and fell in love with her and they decided to get married. And now Shen Wei is already 25 years old and being a young professor in DCU, while Chu is 35 years old and Guo just three years younger than Shen Wei.

Shen Wei got an earlier professor title because of her high knowledge in mutation gene with a lot of research papers publication. Maybe this is the one reasons which caused most of the people hate her to get that professor title earlier than them. You know in education, there is a greedy and jealousy to each other especially when they meet with the special, hardworking and smart colleagues which they can't beat. So they will be jealous and greedy. It's normal in any work for the greedy people.

Shen Wei backs to the current situation and she sighs to see the clock that now reached to 1 pm. She may can't have her lunch today to replace Guo in observing the mutation gene research in the laboratory now. She grabs her book and anything related to the research before she walks to her car to go to the laboratory that located in another building. As she walking to her car, she can feel that someone is tailing her like the previous days but till now she didn't see anyone suspicious around her. That feeling keeps distracting her heart made her heart is beating unstable again.

"Urghh..." Shen Wei clenched her chest to feel that unstable heartbeat once again while trying to hold her pain.

Shen Wei didn't want anyone notice that she is in pain now because of her weak heart. Her heart condition is a secret in her life which no one knows about it except Chu, Guo and Wang who only know about that. Wang is Shen Wei's private doctor who is replacing her mother to monitor on Shen Wei's condition after she graduated from her medical study and after her mother died. That situation caused Wang is being Shen Wei's another closed friend besides Chu and Guo.
