The manual registration week was over and Crepuscule Eve Academy fully resumed with its bustling activities and all.

It was recess period on a Wednesday. Classes begin by eight AM and end by four PM; seven hours of learning and recess in between.

Lunch wasn't served. Students had to fend for their meals; purchase food.

Raven had no money therefore she spent recess in the library, reading a novel.

"Hello," a man wearing a matching dark hood approached her. "I'm Aadil. You can call me Al. And you are? "

Al had been waiting for the perfect time to make her acquaintance. He'd been stalking her and decided to use this opportunity- their privacy- to introduce himself.

"I'm Raven," she responded not taking her eyes off her book. For his good.

Al felt hurt. "Nice to meet you. It seems I'm interrupting your reading time," he said, nonetheless. "I wanted to invite you for lunch. Perhaps another time?"

"I'll think about it. Nice meeting you." Raven replied, still paying full attention to her book. She flipped a page.

Al hurt, perplexed, and in doubt. Was this the wrong time? He questioned himself. Definitely. He silently took his leave. His ego was destroyed.

This was the power of a sociopath.

Raven didn't bother to stare at his behind. She smelt his wounded ego but did not budge.

"You are being unnecessarily rude, Raven," Tendril said. "A simple nod, to acknowledge him would have been polite."

"I was reading, and he interrupted," Raven replied monotonously. "We'd met earlier and he said nothing. Moreover, I knew his name."

"Raven!" Tendril chided. She sighed. "How will you change if you don't try?"

Raven sighed again. "Are you blaming me?"

"No. I'd never. I'm just making you see the reason. People wouldn't be people if they are not their people. People have different characters, and that's what makes them who they are. And this is who you are-"

"Cut to the chase, Tendril." Raven gently snapped.

"Make some friends is all I'm trying to say. You'd find the right people here." he drawled. "I hope you are aware that this is the only way to manage your emotions, so you don't become a total devil."

Raven chuckled drily. "How can I forget the whole purpose of running away?"

"Just don't get too carried away."

"Pft. With what?"

"You can't tell the future, dear. Keep an open mind." Tendril warned.

"Can you tell the future?" Raven asked.

"I've lived for many years. I have a very retentive and vivid memory, but no, I can't see the future. Even if I could, the future isn't set in stone."

"Enough with the sage, old one." Raven mock yawned as she stood.

Her bracelet beeped. It was time for Sorcery period. She returned the novel and exited the library.

The Sorcery hall was crowdy. Everyone wanted to learn the powerful art of magic-wielding; natural practitioners and non-practitioners.

Sorcerers themselves, Angels, Vampires, Demons, Fairies, Elves, Faes, Sirens, and Dragons that wield magic, hybrids, one Reaper, and one Raven.
