It was in Psychology class the ex-best friends met. Harold happened to be seated directly ahead of Paxton.

He was discussing with Samantha and Blair when he walked in with Talia, who immediately made a sharp left turn at the sight of the sorcerer.

Harold didn't bother with her. They were not on good speaking terms either way. He walked to his seat.

"Good morning, ladies," he greeted. "Paxton." he sat.

"Morning. Nice tie." Paxton made a jest. "It matches the socks."

"Thank you."

"And the glasses? Really? It's fashionable though. I'm complimenting you."

Harold nodded, busy with his notes.

"Paxton, don't be a pest," Samantha said. "Everyone has their style and yours is very annoying and cliche."

"Yeah? But you didn't think so when you cling to me every time. Now who is a pest?"

Blair chuckled. Samantha cast a demeaning side-eye at her. She pitied her. She's twenty-three years old and is still behaving like a high-school wannabe.

"Perhaps myself," she said closer to him, her cherry-mint hot breath fanned against his face. She noticed his eyes glance at her lips and her cleavage, she smirked and readjusted her posture. "Because you can't seem to get rid of me." She was aware of the effect she had on him.

Paxton stared at her blankly with his lips slightly parted, as she rose to her feet. Samantha ignored Blair's glare as she cat-walked off.

"Where are you going?" Blair asked.

"The lecturer had a domestic emergency so he canceled class. He sent out today's note and assignment in a PDF format via the academy's email. I'm off." she picked up her purse which she magically fits in all her notes, and left.

Upon hearing the news, Harold followed suit after he confirmed it on his phone. Seeing it was true, he packed his items and left the class too.

The news eventually circulated, after the students grew tired of waiting for the lecturer, they began to exit the class one after the other.

Paxton was left with himself and Blair.

"Do you have feelings for Samantha? I thought you liked me more?" Blair asked.

Paxton stared at the female werewolf deliberately. Memories of the last two nights flashed in his mind. She was submissive with outstanding stamina.

She wasn't Samantha who was aggressive, bold, and passionate in bed, with amazing stamina, rather, Blair was submissive, soft, and almost innocent, with amazing stamina too.

But that one time with Samantha left him starved for days.

Out of the both, he preferred Samantha but she is giving him a hard time so,

"I don't have feelings for Samantha, Blair. What happened between us was a misunderstanding. I will never hurt you. You are beautiful. Can I buy you lunch?"

Blair grinned at him. "You know my favorite."

"Of course I do. Apricots?..." he joked. She lightly smacked his arm. "I'm kidding, veggie salad."

They walked hand-in-hand out of the classroom.

In the cafeteria, everyone was seated with their usual peers engaged in a conversation. Aubrey had avoided her usual table because of Fawkes. She was certain he would remember.
