"Oh! My bad. My apologies. Good morning, Mr. Dae." Aubrey nervously greeted The philosophy of kinetics professor whom she bumped into.
"Ms Hali. Arriving with your teacher? How spectacular. I suppose we make a grand entrance. How about that?" the Earth Dragon said.
Aubrey kept mute to avoid spluttering. Luckily for her, Mr. Dae was distracted by a fellow female staff who stopped by to greet him and that led to a conversation.
She took advantage of that and entered the classroom.
She hated that the classroom building walls had enchanted barriers that blocked any kind of entrance other than entrance through the main doors.
She couldn't even water-port {pun} as royalty. The portal bounces at the main entrance.
She had to walk down the long corridor which was decorated and furnished with contemporary arts and furniture, and a few portraits of great scholars and professors.
Aubrey's entrance earned the attention of most students. They thought it was the professor. The royal Siren felt her heart sink into her bile. Andrea's mischievous smile at her made it worse.
She hated being late therefore she made sure she never attended any gathering and whatnot late.
This was very embarrassing. She felt very embarrassed but what everyone else saw was a beautiful Siren walking into the class like she owned the floor.
Andrea waved at her, pointing to an empty seat two seats beside her, next to her Vampire sisters.
Aubrey shook hands and fist-bumped a couple of friends—Tristan and Zander included. She eventually got to her seat.
"You're late," Drea said.
Aubrey bypassed her statement, greeting her sisters.
"And you are welcome, for the seat," Drea added sarcastically.
"I didn't say 'thank you', yet... Thank you."
Drea rolled her eyes.
"You're never late, Aubrey. What's happened?" asked Yemina.
"Gossip." but she didn't grow further than that albeit Yemina's curious stare. She decided that if Drea hasn't told anyone, not even her sisters, she had no right to say a word.
"Good morning, sir." The class chorused as Mr. Dae Wook, the Philosophy of Kinetics professor walked in.
"Good morning. Ms. Hali?" he called.
"Mr. Dae?"
"Kindly collect the assignments of everyone in the class," he said.
Aubrey furrowed her brows. There's no need for that. Everyone could either pass it to the person in front of themselves or use their powers to submit.
Nonetheless, the professor had spoken. She stood and began collecting the files of her co-student, seat by seat. She then dropped it on his desk.
"Anything else, Mr. Wook?" she asked wryly
"No. You may return to your seat. But before that, kindly summarize for the class what we did last class. Refresh our memories. I assume that's why you were late, because you were revising."
Aubrey held her eyes from rolling. Instead, she glanced sideways, slowly moistening her lips.
First, she was late, and now this. She didn't revise her note but she listened aptly during his last class. Thank you moon and Sea Goddess for a vivid retentive memory, what people would call a photographic memory.
