Chapter 4

Kai's POV

Being that I have an early shift today, when I walk into CatCo nobody else is there yet and go to the elevator, but before I can get in, a hand grabs my arm and pulls me to Cat's private elevator.

"Hey what are you do-" I cut myself off as I turn to the person as the doors close.

"Hi darling." Cat says and I feel my face heat up slightly.

"Hey." I smile at her and she seems like she melts on the spot. "Um, why did you pull me in here?" I ask her as I remember where we are.

"I just wanted to say hello before we began working for the day." Cat says and I grin.

I wrap my arms around her waist and gently set my face in her neck. "Comfy?" I nod slightly and she chuckles. "Well I'm glad I pulled the stop."

"Sorry." I sheepishly mumble as I try and pull away from her, but she wraps her arms around me tighter not letting me go.

"I didn't say you had to let go darling." Cat says right next to my ear, I shiver slightly.

"Why are you in early today? Normally Kara comes in before you and has your coffee." I say pulling away slightly with a confused look.

"Well I texted Kiera and said I'm going in early and she should come in at her normal time. And as for why, I saw you were scheduled for an earlier shift." Cat says and towards the second part she turns slightly red.

"Kara." I correct her and she rolls her eyes, "Thank you for keeping me company though." I smile at her and she gives me one back.

Cat moves one of her arms away and turns on the elevator again, before immediately moving it back.

She pulls me down slightly and presses her lips against mine, I grab her waist slightly as she does.

As she pulls away, the elevator doors open and I know I'm red.

"Hm, you're adorable." Cat says before walking out, I follow after a second of collecting myself. "Darling, why don't you work on my couch after you set everything up?"

"Sure, Cat." I smile at her and she turns into her office and I watch as she walks to her desk.

"Get to work." She says in her work tone but I sense some playfulness to it.

"Yes Ms. Grant." I grin at her before walking to my desk and setting my bag down.

I grab the remotes and start to turn on all the TVs and electronics in the room, all while I feel Cat walking me.

I do everything I need to do to set up as the early I.T. person before I grab my laptop and walk into Cats office.

"Hey." I smile as Cat lifts her head from her paperwork, she has her glasses on, she looks so cute. Not that I'll tell her that.

"Hi darling." My grin gets bigger at that before I sit down on her couch and open my laptop.

After a few minutes, or what I think was a few minutes, I'm so into my work I don't notice Cat walking up to me until she sits next to me.

I jump slightly and she chuckles, "So into your work you didn't notice?" She asks and I nod, "What a good employee." I blush as I think of her calling me a good something else.

I look at the time and see it's been an hour, "Sorry." I mumble.

"It's okay darling. But it's time that people start showing up so I just wanted to let you know if you wanted to go back to your desk." Cat says, I give her a small smile.

"Thank you. Yeah, I will." I say and she nods.

"Okay, I'll see you later for our date then." Car says before she gently pecks my lips then my cheek before standing up.
