Kaiden's POV
Another early shift, another morning, regrettably leaving my beautiful girlfriend alone in bed to work... at her company.
When Cat gets to work a few hours later, I smile at her but she doesn't even glance at me as she walks out of her elevator, she looks angry.
I frown and get up to follow her into her office, the doors are closed so I push one open to walk in.
Cat sat at her desk with her glasses on and began angrily typing on her computer.
"Cat?" I ask as I walk in front of her desk.
She doesn't answer me, only types.
"Cat?" ... "Babe?" ... "Baby?"
Finally, she snaps her head up and glares at me, "Kaiden, I have enough to deal with right now, I don't need to deal with your stupid little nicknames I told you not to call me, especially at work. And I don't need you hovering. So get out!" Cat snaps, I feel my heart break a little.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry." I mumble and make my way to the door, "I don't feel well, I'm gonna go home early, if that's okay with you Miss. Grant." I state more than question and I don't stop before I leave her office.
Rushing past Kara, she tries to talk to me, "Kai?" She questions but I just rush to my desk.
I quickly grab my stuff before I go to the stairs, I run to the roof and take off, I want to get home as soon as possible.
I fly into the window I always leave unlocked for Kara or me.
I change into comfortable clothes before flopping on my bed. I know I'm being dramatic but I can't handle being yelled at, especially by someone I care about as much as Cat.
On Krypton, Kara was the favorite. They only sent me to earth with her because she refused to leave without me.
I don't think they cared about me very much, as Kara was the only one they supported.
My phone rings and I look at it, the time now 3:29, and Cat's calling. I sit and watch the phone ring before it goes to voicemail, and around a minute later, I get a notification saying she left a message.
Cat's POV
As soon as Kaiden leaves my office, I feel guilty. I shouldn't have snapped at her like that, especially over something this stupid.
I had gotten an email about a small issue regarding Catco's weekly magazine. It comes out every Friday, today is Thursday and the editor didn't save their work so it's all trashed.
Now that I think about it, I could have asked Kaiden to take a look at it, she probably could have saved the work.
I call her on my personal phone, only to hear it ring then her voicemail.
After the beep, I start talking, "Darling, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you, and I love all the nicknames you give me, except maybe Kitty– but that's not the point. You don't hover, my love. You check on me when you know I'm not okay, and I thank you for that. I'm so sorry."
I throw my phone on my desk as I put my head in my hands, "Kerah!" I shout, she runs in.
"Could you call your sister?" I ask her, she nods but looks confused, "Just ask if she's okay."
"Hey, Kai!" I hear mumbling on the other side of the phone, "You rushed past me out of Miss. Grant's office before, I wanted to know if you were okay. I know you left early." After a minute, Kara glares at me and I know Kaiden told her.
"Yeah, I'll bring you your favorite after work... Okay, bye, love you Kai." She hangs up. "What did you do?" She asks me, I've never seen Kara like this.
