short...
I watched as C/n walked towards me, their head down, walking slower than usual. Their eyes seemed dark and tired. They approached me, lifting their head, giving me a weak smile as their gaze softened.
"Hey... you okay?" I asked, making my way to their side, starting to rub their back.
"It's been a long day. I'm so exhausted," they sighed, looking over at me with tired eyes.
"I'll come home with you then," I spoke, kissing their cheek as I followed them onto their bus.
The walk from the bus stop to their house was quiet, I just kept brushing my thumb over theirs to make sure they knew I was still there for them.
I had opened the door for them, greeted their parents as the warm smell of their home invaded my nostrils, and closed the door.
I made my way down the hallway to their bedroom, seeing the door slightly cracked. C/n was inside, flopped down face first on their bed. Their backpack was still on.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked, closing their door softly. They didn't respond. I lifted them by their shoulders, taking off their backpack and id, tossing the items into their floor.
I don't care that they didn't respond. They didn't have to. Right now, I just wanted to make them feel better.
"Want to take a nap?"
Their eyes went from dark to slightly lighter, a small smile appearing on their lips. They loved our naps.
I got up, grabbing comfortable clothes for both of us as they clicked onto our playlist.
Soon, we were huddled up in their blankets. Our legs were tangled together, their arms wrapped around me. My fingers stroked through their hair ever so often. Their warm breath went over my neck. I couldn't fall asleep, but I'm glad they were able to.
