The twelve foot long emerald-green, patterned snake hissed as it ventured in the graveyard towards the abandoned single manor that stood tall and alone on a hill as it overlooked the graveyard and village surrounding it with fog looming around it signifying its mysterious, dark past.

It was a cold, pitch black autumn's night and it was peaceful too. But not inside Riddle Manor, a monster and its servants took up residence.

As the old, worn out caretaker lit the kettle he glanced up and looked out of the window, a light illuminating in one of the third floor's windows caught his eye. He slammed down the tea towel he was holding onto the table as he made a face of annoyance as he made his way to the door muttering, "Bloody kids"

As he made his way inside the intruded manor, he made his way to the stairs for that was where the supposed kids were. He climbed the stairs slowly as his torch shone brightly. The caretaker could hear hushed voices as he stopped on the stairs, listening.

"How fastidious you've become, Wormtail" hissed a voice as its owner continued, "As I recall, you once called the nearest gutter pipe home. Could it be the task of nursing me.." the wooden plank creaked from under the caretaker as he continued to listen to what the man was saying, "has become wearisome for you?"

The caretaker etched closer to the room as a new voice spoke quickly, "Oh, no. No, no, my Lord Voldemort. I only meant..perhaps if we were to do it without the boy."

"No! The boy is everything!" Voldemort snapped, "It cannot be done without him. And it will be done. Exactly as I said."

Wormtail stepped back in fear as another man crouched down infront of the armchair speaking lowly, "I will not disappoint you, my Lord"

"Good" Voldemort responded.

The caretaker tuned out of the conversation as he jumped back in fright of the enormous snake slithering by his feet and into the room. The snake began hissing almost as if it was speaking.

Voldemort spoke to the man who was crouched down and to Wormtail,

"Nagini tells me the old muggle caretaker is standing outside the door"

Wormtail went over to the door and was met with the caretaker, the caretaker stepped away frightened as Voldemort spoke again, "Step aside Wormtail, so I can give our guest a proper greeting."

The caretaker raised his hands in surrender as Voldemort cursed, "Avada Kedavra!"

Harry's mind was blinded with a green light as his body spasmed with sweat soaking his pajama top. The whistling of the caretaker's kettle was clear in his mind, he was awoken to the sound of Hermione calling his name.

"Harry."

"Harry!" She spoke again.

Harry woke up gasping for breath as he stared at Hermione, reaching for his glasses which lay next to him on the bedside table. He had arrived at the Weasley Burrow last night after convincing the Dursley's to let him stay with them. It wasn't too hard to convince them, for they had been too scared to get on Silvia's bad side again after she slapped Petunia.
