Dom's P.O.V.
I turn around quickly, searching for the culprit. A scruffy man comes out from the tree-line.
"My name is Fausto Gabriel Gonzalez. Everyone calls me Z. I am here on business." His deep voice is rough, edged with worry.
"I am Dominic, Beta. What business do you have? What are you?" I ask, positioning myself in front of Mae. I step forward as he does.
"I mean no harm, I am a wizard. I heard of the previous Alpha's passing and came to pay my respects, I got captured by Gypsies and was held up. On my way in I noticed a rescue team. I wanted to offer my healing services to whomever is being rescued." He says nervously, rubbing his arm. I look him in the eye and he immediately looks down. The man has a deep tan, dark brown eyes and shaggy dark brown hair. His clothing had mud caked on it, torn in some areas.
"Hi Z! Thank you kindly for taking away that horrible heat. I'm Mae, Dom's mate and the Alpha's sister." My little mate bounds off from behind me and comes to Z's side. Holding her little hand out to him; he takes it, gently shaking it.
"Hello, Mae. I am sorry for your parent's death. You have my condolences." He lets go of her and backs away a little.
"Don't you have a coven?" Luke asks, his thickly muscled arms crossed, his eyes pulled together as he studies the newcomer.
"My coven...they kicked me out because I-I... uh... I am gay." Deep red blush coats his cheeks, he looks down and I see Luke relax. I stop worrying about him hitting on Mae. Mae giggles and claps, jumping into Z's arms.
"A GAY FRIEND!" she screams, I laugh and Z looks sort of uncomfortable.
"I knew your previous Alpha, well my parents did. He sent us money when we were short and helped us find a coven when we moved here from Italy. They were exiled due to their old coven because my father stood up against their beliefs." Mae separates herself from him, coming back to my side.
"I am sorry, you may board here till you find a new coven. The Alpha will be back shortly." Just as I complete my sentence, and Luke is about to start a protest, Kaiden and a little blonde girl come out from the tree line. The pack behind them, Riley included.
