Together, all of them sit at the light brown table, eating the food their mother had cooked. It's hot and tangy, like barbecue. The wind from the storm rattles the window to the boys right, the outside an only never ending shade of sand. It howls, almost animalistic in nature.
"All slaves have a transmitter placed inside their bodies somewhere." Mother says, making everyone look up from their plates.
You nod, adding onto what she said. "Well I've created a scanner, I've found it but if we touch them.."
"They blow you up- Poof-" Anakin finishes.
Padme and JarJar stare at the two of you in horror, "What?!" Padme asks.
JarJar shakes his nasty, slimy head, "How wude." He says, shaking it.
Padme turns to mother, "I can't believe there's still slavery in the galaxy, the republics anti-slavery laws.." Her voice draws off, as if she's in deep thought. "They thought that they'd work. Even this far out here." She adds.
Mother leans forward, "Miss, the republic doesn't exist out here." She finishes, Padme drops back in her seat, her shoulders dropping in sadness. Her eyes gloss over, as if she's about to cry. The younger boy can almost feel Padme's heart crack in her chest.
"Have you guys ever seen pod racing?" Anakin asks them, an excited glint to his eyes.
The Jedi man speaks up, placing a grape-like fruit into his mouth as he begins to speak. "There's pod racing on Malastare, very fast, very dangerous."
You begin to smile, "Yeah, and my brother is the only human who can do it."
The man nods in agreement, "You must have Jedi-like reflexes." He adds.
Anakin looks up at the man, a side glance in his eye. "Your a Jedi-Knight aren't you?" He questions.
"J-Jedi knight?" You ask, stuttering in amazement and confusion. Your senses are almost overwhelmed, you've only head stories about them. An idea pops into your head, they protect the galaxy so if he's here- "Are you here to free us?!" You ask in excitement, a bright cheerful smile on your face as you begin to actually hope for the future.
He waves his hand, shaking off the words. "I am a Jedi, but I am not here to free you." The man says. You can feel your heart drop to your stomach in deep sadness. The man notices then turns to Anakin more interestedly, "What made you realize?"
"There's a weapon on your waist." You interrupt, drawing the man's attention to you. Anakin glances at mother for a moment before returning back to look at the man.
"You have quite the eye," The Jedi says, smiling childishly. "Yes, I do have a weapon." He adds, pulling back a piece of his cloak to reveal the shiny metallic object.
"If your not here to free us, what are you here for then?" You ask the man, tilting your head up to the man in confusion.
The man leans forward, a sharp look in his eyes as if he was analyzing you. "I can see your very clever Y/N," The man says, finally saying your name. You feel a little bit of excitement being called it by a Jedi feels so much cooler. "We're heading to Coruscant, the central system of the republic: we're on a very important mission."
Anakin raises an eyebrow, "If your heading there why are you on the outer rims over here?"
Jarjar grabs a grape with his tongue and shoots it back inside, gulping down the wet goodness quickly and very loudly too.
Padme speaks up finally, "Our ship got damaged and we had to emergency land here for parts."
"Parts cost a lot, trust me." You say, sighing glancing at the older girl with one eye.
