Nora was sitting on the couch, hugging her son with one arm, fanning herself with the other. Her husband was sitting in a chair beside them, using a straw hat of his to fan himself. They had been hit with a summer heatwave over the past few days and were allowing themselves to rest after continuously digging through the attic for some sort of clue as to what had happened to Lidya. And if she was safe or not.
Then, from the strange and small mirror Nora had kept in her pocket since finding it, a strange buzzing came. She took it out, confusion became bewilderment as she saw the mirror had started swirling.
"Oh, Leroy look!" She stood up, Kaleb and Leroy stood after here and looked at the mirror in her hands. They each shared unsure glances as they watched it swirl, it swirled until it became the image of a quaint green room. A green room which stood a girl dressed in high quality, expensive looking, clothes of bright magenta. A girl with blond hair, lightly tanned skin, ears that stuck out a little, and curious pink eyes.
A girl who smiled upon seeing their faces.
"Lidya!?" The three of them cried out upon seeing her.
Lidya could of laughed or cried from relief of seeing her aunt, uncle, and cousin again.
"Yes, yes its me." she told them.
The three sat down on the sofa with relife, Aunt Nora's eyes going misty, and looked at the mirror.
"Oh thank goodness you're ok." Nora muttered.
"What happened, where are you?" Kaleb asked.
"That is a long story. But I am fine, so much happened Im not sure where to start." Lidya told him.
"Lets start with where you are, and how you got there." Leroy suggested.
Lidya started recounting the story of when she first woke up, and told them about the butterfly shaped kingdom, Gale town, and Glassop. Introducing her friends and pulling them into view of the mirror one by one.
As she suspected, her cousin fond Izarra interesting and amazing, and they all were in quite shock and awe at Acer, Axle, and Eryd. It was then that Lidya began to mention her mother.
"Auntie, Mom's from here."
"I know." Nora sighed. Lidya blinked in surprise.
"As children she would always tell me stories about Orenda, I thought they were no more than that- and so did our parents. But she was so serious about them, and remembered them so well, and none of us could figure out why she had those pink eyes. Which was around when we came up with the lie that they were actually violet- which is what she told you. I would have mentioned it sooner if I had known this would happen to you I swear I would have. I'm just..... It's so hard to talk about her still."
"I understand Auntie." Lidya smiled. "But I think you should talk about her to her brother."
"Brother?" both Nora and Leroy asked in confusion. Absyrtus walked into view and bowed to both of them.
"Hello, I'm Absyrtus. Madea's twin brother." he said. Nora's eyes widened.
"Before you ask any questions, I just want to thank you."
"For what?"
"For taking care of my sister. My parents and I were so worried about her suffering wherever she was- and by what Lidya told me, you all took very good care of her. I'm just glad to know what finally happened to her, and yes- I was told about the boat incident. I'm very glad she had a family in that world you all live in." He explained. Nora smiled, teary eyed.
"I'm glad Lidya was able to find people to take care of her." Leroy told him.
"I made it a point, after I became king, That if any situation like my sister's happened- but with the child on our side. That they would be cared for till we could get them home." Absyrus explained. Then Lidya made a conflicted face.
