It was the middle of the night when the news came that Johann and Auburndale had begun to march on us. Rinus had reluctantly woke us to let us know a messenger from Wakanda was waiting in the hall for us. After hearing what he had to say, I woke Arion and filled him in. Immediately the palace was awake and the army gathering to prepare for us to ride out.

And as dawn broke, we did just that.

Our camp met with T'Challa's and set up. Our new ally and myself spending most of the day in the tent with Okoye, Arion and Steve so as we could ponder the maps and plan our best form of attack. With an army of Sirens, it seemed like we would have the upper hand - but even we have our weaknesses. Plus we were told the sizes of each army roughly and they were larger than expected.

We would come face to face at Vormir Fields to prevent them from going any further, and then it would begin.

I didn't sleep much that evening and come the morning as we readied ourselves, I glanced over to Steve who was busy fastening his armour. Both of us had barely said a word since we'd woken. Everyone was the same, some light chatter here and there, people receiving their orders. But the mood was sombre.

"Hale..." He finally spoke from across the other side of our tent where he stood. I looked over and his face was serious. "Don't fight today..."

I finished braiding my hair in a fishtail style from where it was tied up high on my head and sighed. "It is not an option".

"Yes it is, you're my wife. If something happened to you then I would never forgive myself".

"It is not an option". I repeated. "You know I'm not one to just sit back and let the rest of the army to my dirty work for me. I'm not a coward".

"I never said you were". He crossed the tent and took my hands, getting me to my feet. "We need to think - what if we've conceived a child already? Would you really risk it?" He put his hands over my stomach, more so the armour that protected it.

I nodded, but then it was my turn to look serious. "I would risk it all if it meant keeping my people, my friends and everyone safe".

Sam pushed through the tent flaps and looked at us. "They're almost there. We need to move fast or at least stall them".

"Then I'll go". I declared causing Steve to argue with me. I kissed him and shook my head. "I can hold them off alone for so long - slow them down. I can do this - just have the army ready for when I give the signal".

"And what's that?" He asked.

"You'll hear me scream".

He shook his head in disagreement. "Whatever you're planning? I don't like it".

I shrugged it off. "Well tough, because as I'm in charge, you're just going to have to deal with it. If I want to throw myself into the firing line then I will - I need to play the cards I have. I can't afford to stall in my decisions just because you don't like what I decide on". I paused as we looked at one another before I continued. "Our army are far superior to theirs. They may have the numbers, but we have the strength. We will suffer losses, but we are prepared to do so. Everyone with us knows the risk we take, and they are here to fight until the end".

Saying nothing, and knowing that he couldn't really - Steve kissed me once more before I let go of him. "You are my best girl, you know that right?"

I nodded. "I've known from the moment you first looked at me". glancing to the tent flaps where the commotion was outside as the armies began to get into place. "And no matter what happens? You know I will love you even after I am gone".

"Hale..."

With one last smile, I made for outside, pushing back the flaps before looking back at him. "Let's show them just how unstoppable we can be", disappearing before he could even say anymore and walking through the camp.

I stopped by T'Challa and nodded. "You'll hear me scream, I have told Steve that is the signal to attack - no matter what". Both of us then making the Wakandan sign across our chest.

"Let's bring these bastards down". He narrowed his eyes. "Be careful out there".

"Have your army taken the tonic that Erskine provided? Otherwise you'll have a lot of deaf soldiers when you return".

"All taken last night, including myself. Do you think you can hold them off for long?".

I smirked. "I can do better than that - I can summon a fog from the sea so as they will not see us coming, even if they do hear us then it will be too late. My army will fight to retain their powers, but for the most part we should be able to stun them with what we posses. We may be immortal but even my people can die".

He took this all in and smiled. "Good luck Hale..."

It was now or never.

Time to destroy King Johann and Auburndale. Whatever the cost.
