I stared at the window, focusing on the tiny raindrop that was slowly making it's way towards the ground. 'What happens now?' I thought to myself. The cafe door opened, and my thoughts were quickly wiped away.
'Hey, babe!' I quickly rushed to my feet, greeting my girlfriend.
'You don't have to stand up for me!' She let out a cute giggle and sat in the space opposite my chair.
'You alright, then? Is the... er... baby alright?' I felt nervous talking about it.
Once again she smiled. 'I'm fine, and the baby hasn't changed.' I let out a short sigh of relief. I don't know what I thought could have happened. I suppose I've been over-worrying about everything for a while now.
'So, I... er... think we should talk about... things.' My eyes stayed in a fixed position; on Danielle's beautiful face.
'I agree,' she smiled knowingly at me. 'What would you like to know?'
I thought for a second, and realized there had only been question in my mind the whole time. 'Are you sure I'm the father?' My voice softened as I got to the end of the sentence.
'Liam, you really think I'd sleep with someone else?!' Her face turned confused.
'No, I trust you - I just needed to make sure. I mean, we used protection!' My face reddened, talking about the night we made love for the first time.
She giggled at my shyness. 'Baby, it doesn't always work.' She stroked my hand, understanding how daunted I was feeling. 'I know it's going to be tough, but we can work through it.'
I smiled at her. 'It's supposed to be me saying that to you, not the other way around!' I wink, telling her that I'm OK. A waitress arriving at our table snapped me back into reality.
'Can I help you?' She looked bored.
I looked over at Danielle, and without any questions ordered our drinks.
'OK, so that's two double-cream hot chocolates, with extra marshmallows and chocolate drops?' She repeated the order that I gave her, raising her eyebrows at our un-healthy diet. I nodded in answer to her question and she soon left, leaving mine and Danielle's hands perfectly entwined; our mouths forming a grin.
*Harry*
I stumbled along the pathway, looking for a place to take shelter. The rain was now getting heavier, and if I didn't find somewhere to go soon, my bag would start to flood. In the near distance I spotted a bus stop. Slightly frowning, I walked closer to it. The bus stop had an overhead shelter, so I was protected from the rain, although I was still getting chills from the wind. 'Who knows how long I'll be staying here?' I thought to myself. I tried to take in my surroundings. There was a slight red-ish colour to the whole shelter, but most of the paint had been picked off. In the air, there was a faint smell of blood - it was very off putting. The last thing that I could inspect was the bus timetable, most of the times had been scribbled out, and there was graffiti over the whole thing. I placed myself on the cold metal seat that was in front of me and tried to think of what I could do next.
'You getting on or not?' I looked up to see an angry bus driver, ready to close the bus' doors.
'Er.. no, I'm not.' I looked at him, inspecting the anger that was in his eyes.
'Well then, stop wasting my time! Stupid kids...' His shouts caused the entire bus to look at me as they passed. Sighing, I grabbed my bag. My phone was buried in there somewhere, and that was about the only thing that could pass the time. Before clicking on any games, I noticed I had a message.
'If you dare come back to my house, you'll be sorry, you ungrateful piece of shit.' I didn't even have to read the I.D to know that it was ''mum''. I felt my eyes sting as I pressed on an app. A silent tear rolled down my cheek. I wiped it way, leaving no sign of weakness on my face. Slowly, I closed my eyes, and tried to dream of a better place, not that any other place could be worse than where I was now...
'Excuse me?' A voice stopped my dreaming. 'Do you know when the bus should be coming?'
I opened my eyes, and gazed at the pair of black toms that were next to my feet.
'It just left.' My voice was slow, and I could tell that I sounded depressed.
'Shit! I was supposed to get on that one.' The figure moved closer towards the board of bus times. 'Any chance you know when the next one is coming?'
'Yea, in an hour.' I continued to look at the back of this guy's head.
'Great.' He muttered under his breath. 'I'm suppose to meet my girl. She's just moved here, and I'm supposed to help her unpack.' He let out a small chuckle, and I smiled without realizing.
He turned around and went to sit down. I suddenly realized that my bag way in the way.
'Er.. Sorry.' I moved the bag ontomy lap and stared at the contents.
'Thanks,' He sat down and sorted out his hair. 'So what are you doing here? Did you miss the bus too?'
I looked at the floor again. 'I have nowhere else to go..' We were silent for a little while before he spoke up.
'Oh, I'm sorry, mate. That can't be nice.' His voice sounded friendly.
'It's better than being where I used to be.' I thought about all the horrible memories I had from the hell-hole I used to live in.
'Jeez. It must have been pretty bad then?'
'I'd say that "bad" was an understatement..' I fiddled with my fingers, embarrased of my past.
'Sorry, I wasn't trying to be nosy, I'll just shut up. Me and my big mouth!' He let out a laugh that lasted for about a second.
'It's fine, honestly. I don't mind talking about it.' I looked up to see him smiling. I found myself smile back. He seemed familiar, but I couldn't place a name to his face...
'OK, well, I'm freezing. You wanna get a coffee?' His smile still remained on his face as I checked my wallet for money.
'Sure, there's one over here.' I led him to the starbucks that was just around the corner.
**
'Sit down, I'll get the drinks.' The guy stood up and headed up to the counter. I placed my bag on the seat next to me, and couldn't stop staring at him. I looked at the ground as soon as I saw him look up. My cheeks flushed red and I smiled to myself. He began making his way over to our table.
'Here you are, Sir.' He seemed to have gained an extremely posh accent in his time of being up at the counter. I played along.
'Thank you ever so much.' I took the coffee, and rummaged in the bag for my money.
'Don't worry, it's on me.' He had stopped the accent, and was now looking at me.
'Thanks, but-'
'No "buts", it's yours. Everyone has to have a little help sometime in their life.' He looked at his watch. 'I have 10 minutes before the bus leaves.' We drank our coffees and spoke for a little longer before we finally had to leave.
'Well it was nice meeting you-?'
'Harry.'
'OK, it was nice meeting you, Harry!' He smiled. I went to shake his hand. 'I'm Louis, by the way. Louis Tomlinson.' My mouth dropped open. Had I really just spent that entire time talking to first boy I had ever loved...?
