We are only haunted by the things we refuse to accept.-Unknown.
Fatima
The Italian Rivera was beyond beautiful. I could see the lush mountains from our villa. We had taken long walks across the Cinque Terre and attempted fishing along the coastline. The seafood pasta was to die for, and the views were incomparable.
We took a four-day trip to Milan and then spent two days in Sicily so Ibrahim could see the spot where the godfather was shot. Apparently, he had yet to visit the sight even once despite visiting Italy multiple times. Then we spent another three days in Venice. Overall this was the best trip of my life.
I had shopped for both myself and Ibrahim to my heart's content. I found out Ibrahim had a soft spot for fashion, which showed when we entered the Bottega Veneta store. Today was our last day before returning to Milan and catching our flight back to Nigeria. I was sunbathing by our villa pool, talking to Juju while Ibrahim made a few calls inside.
Me: So you just left him there?
J: Yes. There was no other option. The man is a brony fah!
Me: what's a brony?
J: An adult male who enjoys watching my little pony.
I burst into laughter, unable to compose myself at her revelation.
J: It's not funny, Tiims. I thought I had found the one.
Me: It's pretty funny. But it would be best not to judge him based on what he enjoys. He might have some childhood attachment.
J: Nope. I don't even want to find out. It's just straight-up weird.
Me: OMG, is it a sexual thing? Did he ask you to dress up as one?
J: Ewe! I hadn't even thought of that.
I cackled at her expression.
Me: I think pinky pie would suit you best.
J: Please, enough about my stupid love life. How's Italy?
Me: It's incredible, Jujs. Even better than I remember.
J: It's probably because you're there with someone you love. I'm so jealous.
Love?
Me: I don't want to go home.
J: Then stay an extra day.
Me: Nah. Ibrahim has to go back to work.
J: Oh. Well, at least the two weeks you spent were fun.
Me: So fun that I don't want it to end.
J: Ayyah. Get ready to take your ass back home.
I panned the camera to show her my bathing suit and the view.
J: Kai. You look so hot in that.
Me: That's what Ibrahim said.
J: Ouuu. It is very accessible for "sexy time".
Me: Wai sexy time. Shut up.
J: Don't tell me you haven't- you know.
Me: Nope.
J: Tiims what? It's been almost four months. If I had that man-
Me: Ke shut up.
J: what? I'm just saying-
Me: Goodbye, Juwairiyyah.
