As the day of your official presentation to the court, as the future Queen of Mandalor approached, you couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness and excitement mixed together. You had spent the past few weeks preparing for this moment, working on your manners, practising your curtsy, and selecting the perfect gown to wear.
The morning of the presentation arrived, and you woke up early, the adrenaline pumping through your veins. Your ladies-in-waiting helped you get ready, brushing your hair until it shone and helping you slip into your gown. The dress was made of fine silk, the colour of the deep blue ocean, and was adorned with intricate embroidery and pearls.
As you made your way to the throne room, your heart pounding in your chest, you were greeted by the sound of trumpets and the sight of the courtiers in all their finery. You walked down the long aisle, feeling all eyes on you until you reached the throne where the King was seated.
On your way down the aisle, your heart racing with anticipation and excitement, Din stood at the end of the room, his eyes fixed on you. You met his gaze and smiled, feeling grateful for the love and support he had given you throughout this journey.
As you approached the throne, the King stood up and gestured for you to come forward. "My lords and ladies, I present to you the future Queen of Mandalor," he announced, his voice ringing through the room.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, and you felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins. Din stepped forward and took your hand, his grip firm and reassuring. "You've got this," he whispered, his eyes shining with pride.
You took a deep breath and turned to face the crowd, feeling a sense of confidence and strength wash over you. "I am honoured to stand before you today as your future Queen," you began, your voice ringing clear and strong. "I promise to lead with compassion, kindness, and a steadfast commitment to justice for all."
As you scanned the room, you saw a sea of unfamiliar faces, all adorned in their finest clothing and jewellery. But then, you spotted a few familiar faces among the crowd, your brother standing tall with a proud smile on his face, and your childhood friend beaming with excitement.
But as you gazed upon the rest of the court, you could sense the tension in the air. You knew that not everyone was pleased with the idea of you being the Queen, but you held your head high, determined to prove yourself worthy.
The courtiers approached you one by one, offering their good wishes and congratulations. Some were genuine in their kindness, while others were clearly trying to hide their disdain. But you greeted them all with grace and poise, your heart filled with pride and determination.
As the ceremony came to a close, you and Din made your way to the balcony to greet the people of Mandalor. The cheers and applause were deafening, and you felt a sense of awe at the sheer number of people that had come to see you. Din held your hand tightly, his presence a calming force in the midst of the chaos.
You stood there for what felt like hours, waving and smiling at the crowd, until your arms ached and your throat was raw. But the joy and excitement in your heart made it all worth it, knowing that you were beginning a new chapter in your life as the Queen of Mandalor.
As you entered the dining room, you were struck by its grandeur. The walls were adorned with tapestries depicting the kingdom's history, and the long table was set with exquisite silverware and crystal goblets. Candles flickered in golden candelabras, casting a warm glow on the room. Din pulled out your chair and you settled in, taking in the sight before you.
The first course was brought out, a rich soup made with roasted vegetables and fragrant herbs. You savoured the complex flavours, enjoying the way they danced on your tongue. As you ate, Din regaled you with stories from his childhood, making you laugh with his antics.
The main course arrived, a succulent roast beef with tender carrots and roasted potatoes. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and you couldn't help but let out a contented sigh. Din raised his glass to you, his eyes sparkling with affection. "To our future together, my love," he said.
You clinked your goblets together, savouring the bubbly wine as you continued to chat and enjoy each other's company. But just as you were starting to relax in the warm atmosphere, a loud crash interrupted your conversation. You turned to see one of the guards rushing into the room, a look of panic on his face.
"My lord, we have urgent news from the northern border," he said, his voice shaking.
Din stood up, a look of concern crossing his face. "What is it?" he asked.
The guard hesitated for a moment, and then spoke in a hushed tone. "The raiders, my lord. They have breached the border and are advancing towards the castle."
Din's expression turned grim, and he turned to you. "We must prepare for battle," he said. "We cannot let them take this kingdom."
Your heart pounded with fear as you realized the gravity of the situation. You stood up, determined to help in any way you could. "I'll go with you," you said.
Din looked at you with a mixture of pride and worry. "No, my love," he said. "It is not safe. You must stay here, where you will be protected."
You opened your mouth to protest, but he silenced you with a gentle touch. "Please, trust me on this," he said. "I will return to you as soon as I can."
You nodded, your heart heavy with worry and fear. As Din rushed out of the room, you sat back down at the table, your appetite gone. The joyous atmosphere was shattered, replaced by a sense of urgency and danger. You knew that the coming battle would determine the fate of the kingdom, and you could only hope and pray that Din would return safely to your side.
