As the weeks passed by, the tension in the air grew thicker with each passing day. Every morning, you would wake up with a sense of dread in the pit of your stomach, wondering if today would be the day that you received the news that you had been dreading. Despite your fears, you refused to let them consume you completely, and you busied yourself with helping those who had been wounded in the battles that had taken place.
Your days were spent creating salves and poultices, applying bandages to wounds, and doing everything in your power to ease the pain of those who had been injured. Despite your exhaustion, you never wavered in your determination to help those who needed it.
As the days turned into weeks, you couldn't help but worry about Din's well-being. You knew that he was a skilled warrior, but the thought of him being hurt or worse filled you with an overwhelming sense of dread.
One evening, as you sat alone in your chambers, you heard a knock at the door. Your heart skipped a beat as you rushed to answer it, hoping against hope that it was Din. When you opened the door, however, you found a messenger standing there instead.
"Your Highness," he said, bowing low. "I bring news from the front."
You listened intently as the messenger told you of the battles that had taken place, and of the losses that had been suffered. When he finished, you thanked him for his service and dismissed him. As you closed the door, you felt a sense of despair wash over you. The battle was far from over, and you had no news about Din.
As the days turned into weeks, you continued to work tirelessly to help those who had been wounded. You couldn't help but think of Din every moment of every day, wondering where he was and whether he was safe. Despite your fears, however, you never lost hope.
And then, one morning, you received the news that you had been waiting for. A messenger arrived with word that the battle had been won and that Din had been among the victorious warriors. You were overjoyed at the news, and your heart swelled with pride at the thought of your fiancé's bravery and skill.
As you were tending to a wounded soldier, you heard a commotion outside. You looked up to see the gates of the castle opening and a group of knights riding in. Your heart raced with anticipation, hoping that Din was among them. As they got closer, you saw him riding at the head of the group, his face covered in dirt and blood, but with a smile on his face as he saw you waiting for him. He got off his horse and you rushed over to him, tears streaming down your face as you threw your arms around his neck. He hugged you tightly, and you could feel his heart beating against your chest.
"I missed you," he whispered in your ear.
"I missed you too," you replied, pulling back to look at him. "Are you hurt?"
"I am alright, my love," he said, brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "It's just a few scratches and bruises. The raiders didn't stand a chance against us."
You looked up at him, relieved to see that he was unharmed. "Thank goodness," you said, feeling a weight lifted off your shoulders. "I was so worried about you."
Din leaned in and pressed his lips to yours, a soft and gentle kiss that sent a shiver down your spine. You wrapped your arms around him, deepening the kiss as your heart swelled with love and relief.
You took him by the hand and led him towards the infirmary, where you tended to his wound.
As you began cleaning Din's wound, he winced in pain. You could see the deep gash on his arm, the blood still seeping through the bandage he had wrapped around it.
"It's not too deep," he reassured you. "I've had worse."
You continued to work in silence, the only sounds in the room the soft swish of the cloth and the occasional groan of pain from Din. You couldn't help but feel a sense of worry and anxiety for him. You had been so afraid of losing him in battle, and seeing him injured only heightened those fears.
