After I get myself under control I detach myself from Devian and climb off his lap. Apparently he had picked me up and put me on there while I was crying.
I clear my throat. "Right," I announce, "Just what exactly happened?" I ask Devian.
"A lot."
Oh for crying out loud. I give him the most skeptical/annoyed/MAD face I have.
"Really?" I ask my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Really." He responds with a straight face. I'm so close to whooping his butt to the nearest planet. "Care to elaborate?" I say while gritting my teeth.
He flipping smirks. If he's gunna be some cocky dumb butt then he can kiss his face goodbye. Wait, is it even possible to kiss your face goodbye? I mean your mouth is ON your face so it's kinda impossible.
FOCUS BRAIN DAGNABIT.
I get back to the subject on hand.
Before I can say anything his face grows serious. "Your friend was here."
My friend? I think confused. I don't do friends. Correction: I don't have friends.
"Who?" I ask cautiously.
"Aaron. You know, the idiot?" Devian replies annoyed.
Oh yeah, him.
He's not my friend though. Wait, why was he here? How did I get here? I open my mouth to ask these questions but Devian cuts me off.
"I don't really know what happened, but he said something about a computer chip controlling your brain? It was really effed up. Hey are you okay?"
No I'm not okay. Computer chip? In my brain? What's going on?
"If this is some sick joke, Devian, I swear im going to hurt you. This isn't funny."
"I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what he said. I know this is probably a huge shock to yo-"
"Stop just stop," I say to him, shaking my head and waving my hands in front of me. I feel like I'm about to hyperventilate. Calm down raven calm down. Deep breaths, think.
Closing my eyes, I breathe in deeply. Wait what is that? I open my eyes confused, sniffing the air. I catch a whiff of it again, that faint smell of something... savory.
Looking around confused, my eyes land on Devian's worried ones.
"What's that smell?" I ask him.
"What smell?" he asks carefully.
I turn around in circles trying to sniff it out, but whatever it was is gone now. Did I imagine it?
"Nothing..."
Devian reaches forward and puts the back of his hand on my forehead. "I think you should lay down."
"Yeah," I agree with him. I glance to the window and I can tell that the Lights have already dimmed down considerably. A sudden wave of weariness washes over me and I start to make my way to bed.
As I walk past Devian he grabs my arm. I look up at him confused. Didn't he just suggest that I lay down?
"I um, I never caught your name."
How do you catch a name? Realizing that it's probably just some weird way he has of asking for my name, I decide to give it to him.
"It's Raven. Raven Kryne."

I wake up gasping in the middle of the night with a cold sweat, the sheets twisted around my body. I roll out of bed with a silent thunk and stagger into the shower room. Shutting the door as quietly as I can, I take small breaths. Why am I sweating?
A wave of hunger punches me in the stomach. I bend over, stifling my groan. I wrap my arms around my chest, fingernails digging into my skin as another wave of hunger delivers a painful blow to my abdomen.
What the hell is happening?
My fingernails break the surface of my skin drawing blood.
An enticing and savory scent wafts into my nose, causing another wave of hunger to hit me, but I barely notice it.
I'm too busy staring at the blood dripping down my arm. It's not a lot, in fact it's already drying up. I reach out with my finger and wipe it off.
Bringing my finger up to my nose I sniff it before putting it in my mouth.
It's heavenly.
Wait, no! What the fudge am I doing?
I quickly yank my finger out of my mouth. What the hell is wrong with me right now?
I look at my arm for a bit, trying to calculate whether or not I'm going to need a small wrap for it or not.
Instead I find myself staring at my blood.
The next thing I know, I'm licking blood of my forearm. I don't even realize I'm doing it until I try to bite myself.
That is what rips me out of whatever daze I was in. I look down at my bloody arm. I catch myself staring at the blood again.
I quickly jump up and rip off my shirt pressing it into the long scratch mark marks trying to stop the bleeding.
But that smell is still there and I'm still hungry.
I get up and move towards the sink, staring into the mirror above it. I have a few splotches of blood on my chin, but other than that, nothing. Nothing is wrong with me.
At least not my appearance.
But something was definitely going on inside my head. Something messed up.
The blood stops, and the smell in the air starts to fade away, as well as my hunger.
Jolting me out of my thoughts, I hear the bathroom knob jiggle.
"Raven?" Devian's quiet voice fills the air around me.
Then, out of no where in the back of my mind, something whispers with many voices,
"Food..."
