The dark forest swayed in the breeze and the smell of something rotting was in the air, I walked through the forest headed for the abandoned building ahead of me. Something that reeked of what only could be described as death was wafting its way through the forest to attack my nostrils. This had to be one of those blockheads' stupidest dares to date. The light of my flashlight lead the way as my figure made its way through the moist wildlife, the building drew closer and closer until I reached a gate.

I grabbed the radio from my pocket and called in. 'BZZ' "Hey guys, I don't think I can get in, there's this big gate in the way." The radio was silent for a second then another buzz rang out of it "Have you learned nothing in your entire life? Just climb the fence, it shouldn't be a privacy fence." The harsh voice said, "Either way, find a way in!"

I groaned aloud and placed the radio in my pocket again, my pockets were full now so I lobbed the small flashlight over the tall fence and watched it hit the ground with a thump. The light was eye-blinding as it flashed once or twice before turning off completely on the other side of the fence.

"Great, I just broke my only fucking flashlight, great going me." Placing my foot in between the chain-linked fences' small openings I began climbing. One foot after another and getting my feet stuck a few times I finally made it to the top, I steadied my balance to sit on

top of the fence proud of myself for climbing up it.

The victory was short-lived as with one swift motion I fell forward off the fence, I hit the wet ground painfully. "OH MY GOD- Ughh this is the worst dare ever. I'm never doing truth or dare with those idiots again." I groaned from the pain in my shoulder. I turned around to grab the flashlight and stuffed it in my back pocket while sitting up to get this whole thing over with.

The pain was short-lasting as when standing the aching was barely noticeable, the fence wasn't that tall anyway but it still hurt like hell.

My hands dug around in the jean pockets in search of my phone so I could take the picture I needed to, the phone was flipped open and I walked toward the large heavy doors that should've led inside. Pulling it with one arm wouldn't make it budge, weird. Although I tugged at it with both arms after still nothing moved, looks like a different way was needed to get inside the building.

After walking around the entire building an old dumpster came into my vision that could be used to climb onto the roof.

The sky was watched as I clambered onto the roof messily, the sky held what seemed to be almost half a moon. It actually looked kind of nice up here since the old building was a ways away from the town but I could still see the Westbound homes' lights in the distance from up here. Pressing on, I continued searching for a way to get inside.

The whole hospital has always been rumored to have people haunting it since so many people died in it. Personally, I don't believe in ghosts, so they can come and get me, but I'm never going to believe in them.

"BZZ HEY KYLER HAVE YOU MADE IT INSIDE YET?" The radio boomed, and I jumped in surprise at my friend's voice. Taking the small radio out of my pocket the box said it was at max volume, when I fell earlier it must've gotten turned up. As the volume was turned down I spoke into the small box.

"Yeah yeah, I'm trying to find a way in right now. I'm on the roof and none of the doors downstairs would even budge for me when I tried opening them," I explained to the boy on the other side.

"I think there should be one of those big air box things you could go through, that place is pretty old so I bet they have one of those big vent systems you could go through." A girl named Lailani said before my other friend could send a sarcastic sentence my way.

"Thanks, Lailani, you're probably the only helpful one right now! Talk to yall later, I gotta go Kim style through this." I heard a slight giggle through the radio and her voice said to 'go get 'em tiger' as encouragement. I slipped the radio back into my pocket and walked toward a dark black box, as I got closer I tried using my flashlight.

I shook the item trying to get it to light up the area but to no avail. I rubbed my eyes trying to get a better look at how I could get into the box, It was the vent thing Lailani was talking about. It seemed the screws on it were loose, probably from someone else trying to get in. It looked loose enough so I used my finger's nail to undo the top two screws, the cover came off easily and slipped into the large opening.

It was basically blind other than the light coming from the vents underneath me, I climbed for a bit until I found a good stop to get out. It was in a hallway with lights around, I kicked at the vent and dropped down onto the tiled floor. The lights around the hallways were flickering, I was surprised the lights even worked still.

Reaching my pocket I pulled the small camera out of my pocket, opened it, and took picture of the hallway. Just one more picture of myself and I could leave.

My footsteps echoed and I barely noticed the buzz of the lights above me, but most of all failing to notice the small scraping noise coming from the hallway beside me.

I took a quick selfie with a peace sign, that would definitely get the guys to laugh since I wasn't scared. In all honesty, it felt like something was just around the corner, a lot of people did go missing here before so it had to happen somehow. The ache in my gut begged me to leave, looking back toward the vent I wanted to climb back up. The vent cover was on the floor and the vent was too high for me to climb back into without a ladder. One of those exit doors had to be nearby so I walked toward the opening of the next hallway slowly.

One step after another it felt like something was going to happen, before I knew what was happening I'd been about to turn the corner and something hit me. Pain flew through my chest as I was pushed backward, and my breath became heavy as I fell onto the floor. The flash of the camera went into my eyes blinding me from the attacker, gripping onto my chest my eyes caught the blood seeping from my now slashed-open shirt. I looked around panicked then at the legs of a person in front of me, it was horrifying, I wanted to throw up from what I was seeing but fear and adrenaline still had it's hold on me. Long sharp blades made of metal, blood hung to the long edges, a monster. Something I couldn't comprehend, the last things were those shining blades being lifted to end me in one swift motion.

Everything went dark as the last sounds that touched my ears were the low buzzing of lights and my crimson blood dripping off me.
