I stood in my closet and rummaged through it when my bedroom door bursted open. I stuck my head out from the closet to see a guy walking into my room.

"Can I help you?" I scoffed.

"Sorry, I was looking for the restroom." He said.

"Who are you?" I asked and crossed my arms across my chest.

"I'm Jack Gilinsky, your new stepbrother." He grinned before walking out, and leaving my door open.

couldn't even close the door. I walked over and shut it, locking it also.

My mom remarrying? I understand that it was time for her to start dating but, I can't process the fact that she rushed so quick into marriage.

She hasn't even known the guy for that long and now he's going to be my stepdad, and I have a step brother?

She promised me that she wouldn't go too fast, I lost my dad to cancer just last year. Seeing my mom move on from him that quick just breaks my heart.

Enough about her, my name is Luna Hemings. I'm 21 years old and I'm a junior in college.

it's just my mom and I, my dad died last year with stage IV cancer. It was hard and it still is, living my life without my father. My dad and I did everything together, he was my best friend and now he's gone. I have no one.

Yes I have my mom, but still. I did everything with my dad. I was his only child and he put me first. I miss him yes, it'll take time for me to fully let him go. But not now. I still can't process the fact of having another sibling.

It was just my mom and I living in this household, now I'm living with two other people.

I need to shake it off and get ready for this frat party.

I rummaged again through my closet and found the perfect outfit.

There was a knock on the door, "who is it?" I asked.

"It's mom." She said.

I groaned and walked to my door, I unlocked it and opened it up. "Come downstairs and spend some time with the family.

"I have to get ready for a party." I said to her and went back to the closet.

"What party?" She asked and leaned against the doorway.

"The one I told you about last week?" I stared at her.

I hope she doesn't say no. This is the last frat party before Christmas break. my friends have been bugging me to go, I finally caved in and said yes.

"Why don't you bring J-

"Don't say his name." I stopped her.

I'm not bringing my brother, step brother to a party. Not going to happen.

"Bring Jack, spend some time with your brother." She smiled at me. Just in time for Jack to pass by.

"Step brother." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my outfit.

I walked to the bathroom and shut the door. I took a quick shower and changed into my party outfit.
