Cait shivered, and pulled her coat tighter across her chest. She quickened her pace as she walked down the brick road to her favorite coffee shop. A nice cup of piping hot tea sounded exceptionally good right now. The weather was only getting colder as winter approached.

Cait walked up to the doorway and had to put all of her strength to open the door against the strong gusts of winter wind. The bell above the door dinged, to alert the barista's that somebody had arrived. Cait brushed back a strand of curly hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. It popped back out, and she huffed, attempting to blow it out of her face, without success. Readjusting her canvas bag on her shoulder, she walked up to the counter, and stopped dead in her tracks as her eyes met a pair of beautiful black ones.

In front of her stood a gorgeous green frog. He flashed her a toothless smile, and said "Hi, Im Kermit the frog. What can I get started for you today?"

Cait stuttered, and cleared her throat. "Uhm, you're new here?"

Kermit the frog nodded, and continued to smile. "I take it you are a regular? Well educate me on what you normally get so I can be prepared next time."

Cait blushed and giggled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear once more. It fell out once again, like it did when she first walked in. Kermit the frog chuckled, and reached over the counter to tuck the strand of hair behind her ear himself. This time it stayed put. Cait's blush grew deeper.

"Uh, I usually drink English Breakfast, 2 sugars, and cream." She giggled.

"Gotcha, princess," Kermit the frog nodded, and stepped back to start her drink. Cait fumbled with her bag to try and pull out her wallet, and sensed a soft felt touch on her hand. Kermit the frog stopped her, and said, "This one is on me, princess. May we get to know each other when you come back next time." He winked, and Cait bit her lip.

She walked to a corner where her favorite reading chair sat, in front of a roaring fireplace. It was only a few short minutes before Kermit the frog sauntered over with a piping hot cup of English Breakfast tea in his green felt hands. He sat it down beside her. "2 sugars and cream," he winked. "Just how you like it."

Kermit the frog sat down on the ottoman in front of her feet. "So, tell me about yourself. What is a girl as stunning as you doing out in a storm like this?"

Cait shuffled her feet nervously. "I- I- got into a fight with my dog. Needed to cool off so I came here."

Kermit the frog chuckled. "It's always the dogs huh. I'm more of a cat person myself. Well let me get back to work. Cant get fired before I get to know such a stunner as yourself," Kermit the frog winked.

Cait giggled, and sunk into the soft chair, pulled out her book, and got lost in her cup of tea. What felt like hours later, Cait was awoken by a soft shake. A green felt hand was nudging her shoulder.

"Wake up princess, we are closing early. The storm got bad outside. You should probably head home before it gets worse." Kermit the frog whispered. Cait sat up and rubbed her sleepy eyes. "Do you mind if I walk you home? Its not safe alone right now."

"Uh.... Uh, sure. I dont mind," Cait smiled, and stood up. Kermit the frog helped her put her jacket on, and they walked to the door together. Kermit the frog opened the door, and they were met with a HUGE gust of wind that blew all the snow off of the roof in front of the door, blocking them in. Kermit the frog awkwardly chuckled. "I guess we are snowed in." He rubbed his neck, stepping back and looking around. We will have to wait till tomorrow when the streets are cleared before we can get your gorgeous self home." Kermit the frog helped Cait back out of her coat and left to go find some candles in case the power went out. Cait sat down on the plush rug, rubbing her arms anxiously. Kermit the frog returned with several blankets, another cup of tea for Cait, and a cup of coffee for himself. The street outside was dark, and the lights in the coffee shop flickered. Cait shivered with anxiety, and Kermit the frog sat down with her on the rug and covered both of them with a blanket. He pulled her close, and tucked that stray hair behind her ears once again.

"It is going to be ok, princess. Kermit the frog will keep you safe" As he said that, the lights flickered one last time, and the power went out. A few seconds later, a flame appeared in front of Cait. Kermit the frog lit a candle quickly, and set it down in front of them. He pulled Cait close, and left a soft peck on her nose. "I cant wait to get to know ALLLL about you as we spend our first night together, princess."

The end.
