Chapter Eighteen - The Most Beautiful Thing I've Ever Seen

Garreth's POV

Walking with Charlotte is a bit awkward since she barely speaks, but not too bad. As we wander the dungeons hoping to find the common room entrance. "You sure it's around here?"

"Yes." Her voice is so gentle. Don't get how Imelda could be into someone so quiet... But I also don't get how someone as sweet Y/N could be into someone so cold and angry as Gaunt.

"Garreth! Charlotte!" That adorable cheerful voice echoes through the empty halls to us. "Yay! You both made it."

We walk up and of course she gives us both big hugs. I love that she's a hugger. A woman after my own heart. We stand back as she whispers a password to a wall and a door with a snake above it magically appears. "That's fucking cool." I mumble under my breath.

"Let's go!" She grabs both our hands and drags us through.

The room is incredible. A perfect environment for a Slytherin, drastically different from my common room. It's a bit cold, but a breathtaking sight to see the giant windows looking into the lake. On one of the green sofas sits Lex. A coffee table in front of her as a small snack tray and her potions textbook.

"Hey, study buddies!" She waves us over, grabbing Charlotte's arm to sit next to her. Y/N uses her wand to move a 2nd sofa over across the table for her and I to sit.

Y/N grabs the tray of snacks and offers them up to me, "Everything is from Mink. He made sure to include your favorite since I said you'd be joining the study group today."

"I'll have to swing by the kitchens later and thank him."

As we begin our study session, it becomes very obvious that while Y/N and I are good at potions, our ability to pick up on things is nowhere near Lex and Charlottes level. Y/N nudges my shoulder, "I think we're out of our league here."

"Yeah, I think they are ready to take the N.E.W.T. now." We laugh quietly on our sofa as the two geniuses across from us power through their readings.

"Want to take a break from Potions and review Herbology?"

"Sure! But I didn't bring my textbook."

"No problem! I'll go grab mine." She hops us as she heads back to what seems to be the hall to the guys dormitory. She returns back down the hall within a minute, textbook in hand.

As she sits back down, a seventh year I recognize as Amadi Chuke comes walking up arms crossed. "Oh come on! Y/N, are you trying to get me to lose my title as Prefect?"

"What? We're just studying!"

"Oh that is NOT what I'm talking about." Both Y/N and Lex seem confused by his statement. He sighs deeply, "Your rather bold decision to rearrange dorm assignments." Is she sleeping in Slytherin house?

"Oh!" Y/N smiles.

"Don't just 'Oh.' Why didn't you talk with me about this first?."

"Well everyone involved was on board with it. I didn't think you'd mind. I'm sorry, Amadi. Is it okay that we all switched?"

"And why was our original arrangement not working?"

"Well that's Sebastian's fault!" She states quickly, "He almost saw me naked once and lost his mind!" Holy shit. I can't keep my mind from going to inappropriate places as I start picturing Y/N's naked body. My eyes naturally start roaming all over her as I take in every curve. Fuck, I'd kill to have her be mine. Mmm just to have one night with her even.

"I also didn't want my boyfriend seeing my sister naked, so I was also in favor of the room change!" Lex adds.

Amadi just shakes his head trying to process the information, "Fine, whatever... Wait, where is Imelda staying then?"
