Chapter Thirteen - Gal-entines Day!

Lex's POV

The last month has been exhausting...to say the least.

Sebastian is still convinced he doesn't deserve a shred of happiness as long as Anne is still cursed so we've been looking non-stop for a cure, causing us to just be fighting goblins, ashwinders, and trolls every night! I want to be mad at him. I want to scream at him and be upset that he's putting Anne over me. Hell, over himself even...But I get it. I put Y/N over everyone. If Y/N was in Anne's condition I know I'd respond the same as Sebastian. I wouldn't allow myself a wink of sleep or a good moment until I knew she was okay.

As I peel myself from my bed and see the excessive blankets, pillows, and decorations thrown about my dorm, the reminder sinks in, it is Valentines Day. ughhhh. A reminder that Sebastian and I are still in limbo for our romantic relationship. We kissed on Christmas and it was magical, but then with Anne screaming, he just completely shut down again. Oh how can he make me so happy and so mad at the same time?! I wish my feelings for him weren't this fucking strong. I wish I could just move on and not sit around waiting for him. But here I am, at his becking call whenever he needs me to fuck up some of Rookwoods guys or a goblin camp. Ahhh! What has he done to me?!

"Morning Lex! Or should I say afternoon now? How late were you and Sebastian out?"

"Y/N, I love you, but that cheerful tone is just too much right now. I need coffee."

"No ya don't! You are helping us decorate." Imelda drags me up, handing me an arm full of streamers.

I roll my eyes at my roommate as I take the streamers from her and then toss them on my bed. "Let me at least pee first!"

Walking to the lavatory I can overhear countless giggles, crying, and gossip for who is getting what for the romantic holiday. The whole school was in an uproar about two weeks ago when a prank went awry causing a large explosion to occur and two very old and rare displays to be destroyed. As punishment the Valentines Ball was being canceled for the year unless the culprit stepped forward. Of course they never did, however, I'm about 99% sure it was Garreth, since one of the ingredients identified in the explosion was a rare item that I KNOW Y/N had included in her thank you parcel to him.

Heading back into the dorm, now slightly more awake, I can actually appreciate what Y/N and Imelda have pulled off.

Our beds now pushed back into the corners to make more floor room. The sheets are covered in empty bowls and plates as they will become our snack stations for the evening. The floor is laid out with 6 sleeping spaces that are aligned in a circle and covered in pillows. Y/N is insistent that everyone needs at least 3 pillows per spot for maximum comfort! On the walls, they have taped up cut out hearts of all colors and sizes along with a giant banner that reads, 'Gal-entines Day!'

The pink and red steamers are strung about, covering the edges of the whole room and Y/N said she plans on having Mink come in later to cast a night sky charm so the ceiling will be extra magical.

"This looks awesome, you guys!"

"Finally some enthusiasm!" Imelda snarks.

"What time is it officially starting again?"

"Officially we said it starts at 6pm, but I know Poppy will be here early to help me grab the food from the kitchens." Y/N's excited bounces are in full swing. "Oh Imelda, I love that you suggested this!" She quickly drops what she is doing and pulls her into a hug. "This is going to be soooo much fun!"

I have to agree with her. The idea of a Gal-entines Day for just the girls to have a sleepover was great. I could really use the break and spend some time with my favorite Gal's.
