High school Au///Scaramouche and Kazuha told Heizou they were in love with him, and all Heizou could do was run and avoid them.

Third Person POV

Running.

Hiding.

Avoiding.

Those were the very things Heizou was doing to Scaramouche and Kazuha. Why? Because he is scared. He got a few threats from an unknown person who threatened to do terrible things to Heizou if he confessed to them. He didn't want them to get hurt.

A few weeks ago, Scaramouche and Kazuha were hanging out at Kazuha's house. They were listening to music as they finished up the last of their homework. Scaramouche and Kazuha planned on telling Heizou how they felt. The two have been together for about five months now and recently realized that they were also in love with Heizou. Heizou was always a part of the trio and supported them. He never felt left out, even though he too had a crush on them, he never felt out of place. He was happy. He never really liked facing his problems, though he liked facing others' problems. He was just like that.

"Hey Hei..." Kazuha said. He was holding Scaramouche's hand and felt very nervous. Scaramouche did his best to calm his partner down. "Yes Kazu?" Heizou answered, looking up from his notebook. "Me and Scara have something we wanted to tell you..." "Oh go for it you two. Wait. Don't tell me you guys are engaged?" Heizou teased. "Of course not!" Kazuha said. "It's something about us, our trio..." Heizou then felt a pain in his heart. Were they going to tell him to leave? Did they not want him around any more? Did they find out about his crush? Millions of thoughts raced through his mind. But suddenly stopped when he felt two warm hands cup his face. One hand belonged to Kazuha, the other to Scaramouche. Heizou was very nervous. "What's going on?" He asked quietly. "We love you." They said in sync. Heizou's mind went blank. Only one word popped up.

Run.

Heizou quickly backed away from them and got up. "I-I'm sorry, I, I." He couldn't form the words in his mouth. He looked down and quickly grabbed his stuff. "Wait Heizou!" Kazuha reached out. Heizou turned away and ran. He ran out of the house, he was scared. He didn't want to ruin their relationship. It was best that he started to avoid them. He couldn't afford to let them get hurt.

Kazuha felt heartbroken. Scaramouche was too, but he did his best to comfort his partner. "Scara, does he hate us?" "I don't know...But we should give him space. It's probably a lot to handle." Kazuha nodded. The two spent the rest of the afternoon cuddling. Meanwhile Heizou went to Aether's house to ask for help.

Back to the present day, Heizou has avoided the couple ever since. Kazuha and Scaramouche were sad that their crush, their best friend, was now avoiding them. Would it have been better if they never confessed? Who knows.

The couple were now in class waiting for the teacher. Scaramouche sighed, "I'm so bored. When is Mrs. Nahida gonna get here?" "Your aunt? I don't know." Suddenly Gorou ran into the classroom. "Gorou what are you doing here?" Gorou was out of breath but he needed to tell them. "H-Heizou, he, shit!" Gorou said in between huffing. He pointed his finger into the hallway. Kazuha and Scaramouche got up and went out to follow Gorou. Gorou ran up the hall and from a distance they could see a small crowd.

"What the-" "Someone help me get Heizou off!" That was Aether's voice. "I'm trying but he's too strong!" That was Shinobu's voice. Kazuha and Scaramouche pushed their way through the crowd. They were in shock when they reached the front. Heizou was on top of some guy, punching the living shit out of them. "This asshole deserves it!" Heizou yelled. He kept on punching the guy underneath him until he heard them call his name. "Heizou!" He looked up and saw them, his crushes, his best friends. Aether and Shinobu took this chance to pull Heizou away. The guy laid on the floor passed out, while Heizou was screaming to let him go. "This shit deserves it!" "And why is that Heizou?" Mrs. Ningguang asked. "Because you didn't hear what he said he was gonna do to Kazuha and Scaramouche! I won't let anyone hurt them!" After that Heizou passed out. Thankfully Aether was able to catch him.

Kazuha and Scaramouche spent the rest of the school day in the nurse's office sitting by Heizou's bed. Nurse Baizhu walked into the room. "Well the great news is that he will be okay. However please keep an eye on him. It seems he has not been sleeping and eating well." Kazuha and Scaramouche wanted to cry. Heizou looked so exhausted. "Do we know why? How did he get like this?" Scaramouche asked. Baizhu sat in his chair and rolled over to them. "I shouldn't be telling you this, but..." He looked at his clip board. "That guy he was beating up, has been stalking the two of you." Their eyes went wide as they froze. "Heizou was threatened to not tell you his feelings. But when the two of you confessed he got scared. He wanted to be with you, but got scared. So he decided to find out who this unknown person was in order to protect you. that guy is now in the hospital and will be facing criminal charges. That's all I can say." Baizhu got up and left the room. Kazuha and Scaramouche held hands and watched Heizou sleep peacefully. Scaramouche then thought for a moment. How did Baizhu know all this?

After a few days of much needed rest, Heizou was back at school. Kazuha and Scaramouche were always with him watching everyone and everything. They were like guard dogs protecting their owner. Heizou still hadn't responded to their confession, but that could wait. What matter to Kazuha and Scaramouche was that their Heizou was okay.
