The Promised Neverland

TPN Au// Heizou, Scaramouche, and Kazuha have been preparing to escape the orphanage with the help of Aether and Xiao. But, Mama got in the way.

This is set where they tried climbing the wall and Isabella caught then!

Third Person POV

"Where's Scaramouche...?" Aether asked worriedly. He held onto baby Klee watching the window. His job was to wait outside in case anything happened but...Scaramouche and Mama have been inside for a while. Heizou and Kazuha should be close to the wall. Suddenly...

Mama appeared.

She smiled at Aether warmly. "I'll be back dear." She patted his head and pulled her watch out. Aether's eyes widened in horror. He went to look for Xiao. "Xiao! Xiao!" Xiao ran out to him. "What's wrong?" "Mama just left the house and no signal from Scaramouche! There's something wrong!" Xiao nodded. "I'll go look, wait out here." Xiao went back inside.

"Scara?! Scara?!"

Scaramouche was on the ground. He reached out to the door. "Xiao over here!" He tried banging on the door. Xiao ran up stairs, searching every room until he heard Scaramouche's voice. "Back up!" Xiao yelled. Scaramouche complied and stood far back. Xiao got some distance and ran into the door, causing it to fall with him ontop. "What happened?" Scaramouche rushed out. "Mama found out the plan! We need to stop Heizou and Kazuha now!" "Understood!" The two boys ran outside to grab Aether.

Aether gave baby Klee to Kaeya. He went back to his location and saw the two boys run out. Scaramouche ran passed him, Xiao did too bit grabbed his hand. Xiao explained the situation to Aether. "Shit! So she knows now what?!" Scaramouche gritted his teeth. "I don't know. But we need to beat Mama first...I don't know what she'll do to them..."

"Back to where we started." Heizou smirked. Kazuha laughed, "Guess so. Ready?" "I was born ready!" Kazuha rolled his eyes as he got the rope ready. But before he could finish preparing, they were ruffling noise. "Kazuha." Kazuha nodded and threw the rope into some bushes, a good distance away. They waited in the eerie silence. They stared in front of them, into the forest. Who's there?

Not long, a figure appears. Dark purple hair could be seen. "Mama." Mama Ei smiled. "My dear children, what are you doing?" Kazuha and Heizou smiled innocently, "We were just taking a walk! We were wondering what was out here hehe." "Oh my dear Kazuha. Stop pretending. We are here in the forest away from the other children. So let's talk regularly alright?" Heizou and Kazuha stopped smiling, Mama Ei dropped her smile as well. "Isabella." "Heizou. Kazuha. I know you plan on escaping but it's no use. Just stay here. You have everything you could ever want. A warm bed, nice clothes, good meals, play time, family, everything." "No we don't! We don't have freedom! We don't know what the outside world looks like. We want a chance to see that!" Kazuha snapped. Ei sighed, visibly annoyed. "Enough kids. Go back home and we'll settle this in a calm matter. Don't be bad children."

Kazuha relaxed for a brief moment. "You're right...sorry Mama...Heizou now!" Kazuha ran to Ei and trapped her in a hug. Heizou ran for the rope.

Ei smiled, "Ahaha! Kazuha!"

Scaramouche, Xiao, and Aether continued running. "We should be close! C'mon almost there. C'mon!"

CRACK

A blood curdling scream erupted. Heizou turned around, his heart dropped. Scaramouche and the others arrived and saw the scene in front of them. Kazuha laid in the grass screaming and crying. He held his knee, "I-It hurts! AH!" Mama Ei slowly picked up Kazuha, "Shhh shhh~ It's okay my dear. I will fix it." She grabbed a nearby stick, some cloth, and tied the stick to Kazhua's leg to keep it straight. "See what happens when children go up against an adult? I wish you would listen...Oh and good news. Heizou." Tension rose. Heizou looked at Mama Ei with wide eyes. He knew what was coming, but he didn't want to hear those words. Not yet.

"Your shipment date is tomorrow. Congratulations." Mama Ei started walking back to the house. Heizou fell to his knees, watching as she left with Kazuha. Scaramouche pushed pass Ei and went to Heizou. Aether and Xiao watched as she left. Not soon after, Ei reached the house. The children following behind her. 

It was late at night, the children asleep...All but a certain trio. "We won't let you die! I refuse!" Kazuha cried out. Heizou smiled sadly at him. "I'm sorry but you don't get to decide that." "Who gives a fuck? We have worked hard to get this far! We couldn't have done it without you! We will come up with a plan like we have always done." Scaramouche declared. Heizou was taken aback. He patted Scaramouche's head, "I'll be okay." He tried to reassure them. "No! We could do something. Hide you!" Heizou shook his head. "What if they send someone else in my place? What if they send you?" "I doubt they will send Kazuha, he has a broken leg. Remember they want healthy kids. So what if I just-" "Break a bone or get sick!" Kazuha added. Scaramouche laughed, "Perfect! Should I break an arm? Leg?" "Both!" Heizou chuckled. "Guys that's stupid." He didn't want to ruin their spirit so, he went along with their planning. Deep down he knew, he wasn't going to follow it.

The following day, it was Heizou's shipment. The morning routine went on as usual. The kids get dressed for the day, eating breakfast, and their daily tests. Once the tests were over, Mama Ei allowed them to play outside. Kazuha watched from the tree as Heizou, Scaramouche, and other kids went to play in the forest. Kazuha felt a sense of relief. Heizou was gonna be alright. The day slowly passed by, and when it was sunset all the kids returned. Except, Heizou. 

The kids waited for Heizou, staring into the horizon of the forest. Kazuha, Scaramouche, Aether, and Xiao smiled proudly. Heizou was-

Mama Ei laughed slightly. Horrified, the children that knew the secret turned to her. She smiled down at them, "Welcome home, Heizou." Kazuha and Scaramouche froze. Light foot steps could be heard. The grass crunched briefly. It was Heizou. He went up to his two closest friends. He whispered, "Sorry..." He secretly handed back the device that could have allowed him to turn off the tracker. Mama Ei walked over, "Go wash up and get ready dear." She smiled warmly. Heizou looked up at her and smiled brightly, "Yes Mama." Heizou left without another word. 

Later that night, Scaramouche and Kazuha went into the room. They saw Heizou packing his belongings. "You know, staring isn't very nice." He turned to his two best friends and winked. Kazuha couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Scaramouche scoffed, "And it isn't nice to lie to your friends. you said you were going to-!" Swiftly Heizou pulled Scaramouche into a hug. Scaramouche couldn't help but hug him back, holding onto him scared for what awaits Heizou, he buried his face into Heizou's shoulder sobbing. Kazuha watched as Scaramouche broke down. Heizou offered him to join and without a second thought, he did, tears threatening to fall. 

"Shhh I'm okay guys." Heizou whispered. "Trust me, my life isn't as important as the lives of all the younger children you must save...Please, escape, for me." He kissed the top of the crying boys heads. They held him tighter. They refused to let go until he was called for. With tears in both their eyes, they looked up at Heizou. Heizou smiled softly at them. He cupped Kazuha's cheeks and kissed his forehead. He did the same gesture to Scaramouche. 

As the trio made their way down, all the little kids began to cry. Aether and Xiao watched with tears in their eyes. Heizou walked up to the kids hugging all of them. The younger children cried, wishing him well, goodbye, a happy life, very unaware that Heizou is....

Mama Ei smiled and placed a hat on Heizou's head. "Shall we go?" Heizou turned to her. "Yes we shall."
