Hayden and Stiles's eldest son, Orion, was going on a date and Hayden was going overboard to make sure he looked nice and felt comfortable. He'd finally asked out his crush, a girl named Anna, and he was nervous.
When their son headed to the bathroom to check his appearance, Stiles pulled Hayden aside. "Love, I know you're worried about him. I know he's only fifteen and any of our little niblings dating is going to send our instincts into overdrive, but he is our kid. He's our son. He'll be just fine."
Hayden couldn't stop fidgeting but she nodded. "You're right. I just—He's liked her for so long. I just want to protect his heart. That's why we ask our kids to give us their hearts first, so we can protect them."
Stiles glanced towards the bedroom of their twin daughters. "Believe me, I know but heartbreak is also a part of life. We're here to pick up the pieces when life deals harsh blows. Now he's ready to leave. Let's go see him out."
Their son hugged them each and gave them a blinding grin. "Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Mama. I'm so excited!" He grinned before heading out.
Stiles looked at Hayden and gestured to the living room. "You want some snuggles, love?"
Hayden stared at the closed door, getting more fidgety. "S-Sure."

Stiles was doing the dishes and waved at his wife when she left to mail some things.
As Hayden was headed back home, she swung by the movie theater. It was just so she could check on her son. Before she could talk herself out of it, she parked and went inside. She paid to see the movie and snuck into the balcony where she could see her son, Orion and her son's date, Anna.
Eventually, Stiles sank down into the seat next to Hayden with a soft sigh before looking at her with a fond smile on his face. "I knew this was where you'd be, mama bear. Stella is with the twins."
Hayden looked down at their son and then back at her husband, ducking her head sheepishly, her cheeks bright red.
Stiles put an arm around his mate and kissed her temple. "It's alright to be worried, Hayden. We're going to watch the movie. Not our kid. Then we'll go home, and we'll talk."
Hayden leaned into the kiss and whispered. "I don't like not feeling needed. I carried him," she whispered, her hand going to her stomach. "H–He was our little boy and now he's fifteen. Stiles, I can't—I just love him so much."
"I know, Little Wolf. I know."
The two parents settled in for the remainder of the movie, both thinking about their life together. They'd been together since sophomore year of high school, nearly twenty years of marriage and neither of them would change a thing.
